The house impeaching would at least lead to very loud and public impeachment inquires if not the senate convicting. Either they’re so loud the senate has to convict or their base will slaughter them in the midterms or they don’t convict and the exposure is more ammo to beat trump in his midterm.

I do expect him to win. Biden is the choice of the (D) establishment, and as much as I'd like to see Warren take the nomination, I think Biden will get it. And I think Trump beats Biden. We've got a long campaign season ahead, so maybe that'll change, but that's where I'm at now. But there's a better chance of the Red Sox winning the Super Bowl of getting a conviction from the current Senate, and impeachment+acquittal=rabidly energized Trump base.
