Come to think of it, that term must have phased out at some point. I remember searching for roms and game cracks and poo poo in the late 90s and early 2000s and every website had at least one shady looking porn banner ad about hot lolita blowjobs or whatever.

Excuse me Mr Mental if you investigate any piece of Simpsons merchandise I think you will find it carries the Matt Groening signature! You can only find these on products that meet the high personal standards of Matt Groening.

Whenever Matt Groening was on the DVD commentaries you would have the actual talented people laughing at the good jokes and Matt would laugh at the basic rear end filler ones.

some former writer said that junior writers - as in, people who JUST got hired as writers - start at $250k. Imagine how much the showrunners get. :monocle:

For some reason I don't think that's so much a per episode salary for writers as it is per year.

The worst part is that they apparently literally "phone it in" frequently these days. They do their voiceover work over Skype.

you're right, that's a yearly salary, which is indeed nice, but yes, far less impressive

It might not be literally Skype I guess, but I know there's at least one interview where they mention they do their lines without actually going to the studio.

Probably do it like lots of podcasts do. Have Skype for realtime interaction and feedback, but also be recording a high quality version locally at the same time which can be stitched together later.

He delivers them in one take still half asleep, hits send. Goes back to sleep.

Also The Fall of The Simpsons by Super Eyepatch Wolf which has been posted here previously has something of a follow-up that's worth checking out if you've got half an hour to spare.

No but calling it something like Lemon and bothering to come up with a clever new logo/company motto would have veered to close to an actual joke and might have confused and angered their viewership.

In the modern Simpsons, they would have stopped at Flickeys, and they'd have met Flickey, played by Dave Grohl, and Homer would hang out with him before sustaining a serious injury and that would be most of the episode.
