Offa's Dyke trip report day 5 Walking 8/10: from Kington to Knighton. more amazing uplands and lots of common land, which is always a good sight. Definitely seeing the landscape change; more sheep farming, bigger fields overall and had a chance to really walk along Offa's Dyke itself, which is awesome. The scale and size are mind boggling, and it's supposed to have been done by 1100AD or something like it. It's an insane amount of labour, but then is any price too high to keep out the Welsh?. Three main hill ascents for about 700m up and 26km walked. My 70yo dad is a loving superhero and we're outpacing everyone. Sogginess rating: 0.5/10: only a half point due to a little early drizzle, but lovely to keep the rain wear off all day. Pic of dad coming up Ffridd hill, the last one of the day:

Days like today remind me why I keep putting up with all this poo poo and keep fighting. There's a reason why Corbyn and the left have had so much crap flung our way over the past 4 years and it's because deep down, everyone knows that we're right. Today is the day that a lot of these fucks finally ran out of time and excuses to pretend otherwise, and watching their brains melt down is almost enough to make the whole thing worthwhile.

If the price of confidence votes is electoral reform or something then that's something we all want anyway.

Well a lot of the PLP will do their best to undermine Corbyn whenever they can, but actually voting against Labour in a confidence vote is a step too far if they want to still remain Labour MPs. If Corbyn becomes PM you can certainly expect regular rebellions in the PLP whenever he tries to pass some good legislation.

A very large number of Labour MPs would rather a different person was Labour leader, but actually voting against Labour in a confidence motion would get them deselected at lightspeed. One or two might try it but I very much doubt a significant number would.

I really don't think that's enough to stop Labour getting the most seats, but I can see it nudging a majority to a minority. yeah the money doesn't want a no deal brexit, they are being atypically kind to corbyn right now. i dunno though, i also kind of suspect we're going to have a recession on our hands coming into the next election and that might tamp down capital's wild spending. and social democracy is ultimately extremely good for business on the whole (if not eg the train companies). i'm not sure they've got as much in the tank as you're implying, although i'm sure we'll see.
