It’s been a running joke for a couple of years, as far as I know it’s because Vikings blogger Arif Hasan noticed that Mitch had a couple games where he didn’t throw left well/at all, and went on to have some fun with it and put together a whole article going back his college years and statistically demonstrated cherry-picked stats that Trubisky really struggles with it. I think Trubisky has even referenced Arif/the “can’t throw left” theory in general, especially because like the week after that article was first published he had a game with I think 4 touchdown throws, all to the left.

He's just gonna send special teams out for every play and alternate kickers. The one that survives wins the job. Two men enter. One man leaves.

playing anyone with any type of standing in the league in the preseason is dumb.

Like, does Stafford really need to practice playing against semi-real game situations.

The play action TE drag route has about a 80-90% success rate inside the 5 in actual games too, and it seems like there's only 3 or 4 defensive coordinators who have figured this out and actually assign a DB to cover it. The reason it doesn't get run more is that when someone actually jumps the route it's a guaranteed pick six so you need to trust your QB not to throw it if the coverage is there. Interestingly, Zimmer is an exception to the usual defense in that the Vikings usually guard against the play by trusting Barr to both read it quickly and be fast enough to sprint to the flat in time to keep the TE out of the end zone which sometimes works and sometimes fails horribly. Most teams don't have a linebacker that athletic though, so they really need one of the outside players watching for the TE to release from his block.

quote:

Bettors have spoken: The Chicago Bears and the Cleveland Browns -- and their young quarterbacks -- are public darlings at Las Vegas sportsbooks.

There are more bets on the Bears to win the Super Bowl than there are on any other team at multiple sportsbooks. The Browns are right behind the Bears in Super Bowl bets.

"It's been kind of overwhelming, the support [for the Bears]," said Alan Berg, the senior oddsmaker for Caesars Sportsbook. "Every time the Bears go to the playoffs, the following year, the money just pours in. Everybody gets optimistic."

The Bears are 9-1 to win the Super Bowl at Caesars, the fourth-best odds behind the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs, who are co-favorites at 7-1, and the New Orleans Saints at 17-2. The Browns are 10-1.

Those five -- the Patriots, Chiefs, Saints, Bears and Browns -- are the only teams that have already attracted more than $1 million in Super Bowl bets at MGM sportsbooks in Nevada.

In addition to the Super Bowl bets, Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield are the most popular bets to win NFL MVP. At the SuperBook at Westgate Las Vegas, Trubisky's odds to win the MVP have moved from 200-1 to 50-1. Only Mayfield has attracted more bets than Trubisky at the SuperBook.

Mitchell Trubisky, NFL MVP, would be the truest sign that we are in the end times.

As a relatively new follower of football, and fan of the Packers, you are not wrong. They have overall been very mediocre since the 2016 playoff run, which was mostly Rodgers using his last bit of fairy dust to drag the team to success.
