For some reason, I've discovered that Turkish cooks on social media really like to prepare food as fast and as hostile as humanly possible, including slapping meat, squeezing everything violently, and throwing toppings and sauces everywhere with vigour. It's quite remarkable and I can't look away sometimes.

And they will never "just give" you your loving ice cream.

I've never seen someone so angrily beat ice cream with a knife before until I discovered Turkish food videos.

Apparently peanut butter + mayo is a 1930s southern thing, and not... Horrible? I'm tempted to try some tonight, although I have no bread.

The grosser thing with me is some of the pairings. Peanut butter with meat? With egg? Ehhhhh... No.

And of course there's a loving face.

Also a flyover state thing, and a thing where dust bowl people migrated to and passed it on to their descendants.

I grew up on peanut butter, mayo, and lettuce sandwiches. They can be really good if you get the proportions right (e.g. plenty of crisp lettuce). I still get nostalgic and have one once in a while.

Yeah now that I think if it I do eat pad thai, but there's something unappealing about just plopping a big ol' salami on bread smeared thick with mayo and peanut butter

god dammit I'm going to try this aren't I
