Nobody else gives a poo poo. (Except some of the Mon Cala people, but that didn't work out well for them.)

No no no, what I initially meant was that the version of Rey shown is either some force illusion a la ESB, or it's one of the Knights of Ren that can shape shift/cast illusions on their own person that will inevitably fight one of the protagonists once everyone gets split up in the destroyed chunks of the Death Star. Because it's not Estar Guars if you don't have your main characters get split up necessitating different scene wipes/transitions.

In TFA they tease her potential and backstory, then it just kind of fizzles out in TLJ. I also felt like she keeps insisting on being trained by Luke but there was never a reason why she would want to do that other than plot. The whole lead-in at the end of TFA was for her to find Luke and have him come back and help, but he just goes ‘hell no’ and moped around until the last minute in TLJ and then dies.

the movies and characters within them treat her like just any other plucky YA protagonist though, that's the disconnect she should be moody and abrasive and the idea is there with her flirting with the dark side but ultimately all that gets ignored in favor of more 'perfect chosen one' crap

With the parents angle and the wanting to be trained angle exhausted, there's not a lot left to rey other than the desire to murder as many first order dudes as possible. Main takeaway: if only anakin had focused more on murdering the appropriate people and less on protecting his loved ones, all this tragedy could have been avoided
