From the shows I've seen from the Gate of Adventure tour so far, Martin Kirby has done a good job fitting in to Dragon Gate lower card silliness. Especially enjoying some of his more World of Sport style grappling.

https://twitter.com/mattsdl/status/1165615077288005632 Might get more as well - my guess is that he'll pop up on the bigger DDT shows (so Judgement next year, almost certainly Peter Pan since Saitama is a huge building) and maybe if there are AEW gaps (which is unlikely for him) he might appear between those shows.

Just got done watching the DDT show. The finish to the ladder match was a little terrifying! How on earth do you book all these people on a show. 50-man rumble for the Ironman Heavymetalweight championship?

been cruising through what's available of the NOAH N-1 shows and have come away really pleased with all the matches. The only one I didn't care much for was the Go Shiozaki vs. Hammerstone match. But other than that, the rest of the matches have been really solid. I'm not super well versed on NOAH, but I've been really impressed by Kenou, Takashi Sugiura, and Katsuhiko Nakajima. But the MVP for me thus far has been Masaaki Mochizuki. I loved the little I've seen of him in Dragon Gate and when I saw he was in the N-1 I figured now was as good a time as any to try and get into non-NJPW Japanese wrestling. Mochizuki's match vs. Kenou is probably my favorite of the tournament thus far.

Masa now goes on that list. i forgot he also hit a super crisp German suplex on Sugiura in their match too that wowed me. also really like how it feels like everyone throws a lariat and they're all awesome. also i swore Go was bigger than he is based off when i last saw him, but maybe it was just the bigger hair back in the day.

N1 Victory show to be broadcast live from Yokohama on Saturday on their Youtube. I've done an absolutely dire job of keeping up with this tournament but will eventually get caught up. There's only the one tournament match on it but it's going to be a pretty big one I'd assume, Marufuji vs Sugiura. So far Marufuji is 0-2, Sugiura is 2-0 and a win will leave him in pole position of Block A with just one match left, against fellow 4 pointer Go Shiozaki. Also quite interesting, the next episode of MLW Fusion is headlined by the Shiozaki vs Alex Hammerstone match from 18th August.

OWE's moving out of Shanghai. That's what Ben's tweet was about last week that people were interpreting him as leaving the promotion (he's not, the chinese wrestlers are on ten year idol-style contracts and are mostly in year three of them, they aren't going anywhere unless they're outright retiring.) Completely unrelated to any of the OWE UK stuff. They're opening two schools/centers, one hasn't been announced yet, but one looks like to be in Cambodia in all places (near angkor wat, have to imagine the cambodian gov't is footing a bunch of the bill.) The second will remain in China. They're negotiating a new tv program for that camp, so it's more like it's suspended than cancelled. Dunno where the Chinese center will end up being, but there's been a move in certain parts of Chinese entertainment to move out of Shanghai to other parts of the country because of how expensive rent is in Shanghai vs the rest of the country. OWE UK seems to be a complete britgraps cluster gently caress from what I've been told. Never passed my personal smell test and there was drama between OWE office and OWE UK promoters about what the shows were trying to be or not. The OWE UK people seem to pretty pretty scummy and stuff might hit soon about their intentions. Pinche Rudo posted:So does this mean CIMA and crew are now free to work AEW full time? I doubt it in the near term. They were only able to get one Chinese visa for OWE Canada. OWE UK, at least from my impression, was somewhat done for the hopes of building up evidence that the students weren't going to overstay visas. OWE is doing full tours of Japan and Singapore (the shows that Riho/Omega are on) over the next few weeks. STH are all possible since obv CIMA/T/Linda have visas, but their priority is in Asia. Slim maybe we'd see more when or if AEW does Canada.

finally got a ticket for DDT's big Ryogoku show in November. managed to pay online and have it set to do a ticket pickup at a FamilyMart, but I have until the day of the show to pick it up, it's not one of those expiring ones (since this one is actually prepaid) ended up getting a "2F" (balcony) A section ticket. they said they were low on these on the DDT ticketing site so I suspect I got one of the worse remaining ones, but the view looks pretty good online. I thought about doing those box seats but I figured I'd save a bit of money and social stress by sticking to the balcony. feel like DDT's comedy is broad enough I won't need to be that close to get a lot out of it
