It doesn't help that of course the mom is a crack addict and they're depicted in the most derogatory and stereotypical ghetto style imaginable. Like, fucker was really swinging for the fences there. (loving need the line of barf smilies for this poo poo)

The part where Butcher manipulated her was busting into the porn studio during a meeting and killing everyone, including her mother, right in front of her to get her to call MM and draw him away from HQ for a while so he could set up his 'end game' without MM being able to find him out. I really wish I didn't remember that.

Well this was great but I feel a lot of the attempts at humor fell flat, especially the banter. Can I just mostly blame Seth Rogen for that you think? Fantastic timing on the release with Epstein's death and all that going on, this is the most Epstein-brained superhero stuff gets. I also thought Karl Urban was supposed to be from New Zealand like a lot of people in this thread apparently lol.

So yeah I found this show deeply uncomfortable to watch, but I soldiered through all 8 episodes. I don't know if I enjoyed it or not? I was a little put off by the rape of Starlight in Episode 1. The scene in Episode 4 where Homelander and Maeve let the plane crash with everyone on board is what almost sent me over the edge. I just found it so unsettling. There is no real hero in the show (outside of Starlight) and everyone is varying shades of rear end in a top hat. I guess that is what people like about it. But holy gently caress Homelander raping Billys wife, then just straight up murdering Stillwell with his eye beams, and then digging in the dagger by taking Billy to her house was a really powerful way to end his story arc in season 1. I will definitely be watching Season 2
