Chocobo Saddlebag is extra inventory, with the caveats that you can't access it in instance and you can't craft from it. Retainers are also extra storage, you get 2 of them for free if you haven't hired any yet. If you're in an FC you have an FC chest you can use.

Put stuff in your Chocobo

Alternatively look up what sells for 1g on the market board and just trash it

Your retainers are your bank. Plus the chocobo saddlebag under the character menu.

edit: also you can trash a lot of the lower-level crafting stuff because you can just buy them from vendors.

Silly goose, you're here forever.

Retainers are your only option, but also you should trash or sell anything that isn't HQ or isn't for the crafting job you're currently leveling, there's far too many crafting ingredients to keep a stack of everything even if you wanted to.

Throw rocks at your hunt log targets until 16, then go do dungeons. Can't beat those healer queues!

(I have no idea how I had the patience to go all the way through ARR and half of HW questing with WHM as my main. I picked up SAM on a whim and then I just couldn't go back. It's so slow in comparison... but those near-instant duty finder queues help make up the difference.)

A few slow regular world hunts are totally worth it for instant queues.

All three healer classes for me have blown way past the MSQ progress because I like playing healers and instant queues make it so easy. I just hit 70 on my WHM around the time I got to Fantasy Japan in SB, level 61 on the MSQ. I've done virtually no questing with them outside of the class quests.

If anyone else here really, really likes the main story of Shadowbringers but was worried that 5.0 main scenario writer Natsuko Ishikawa was perhaps unaware of how much people love the 5.0 main scenario she got a solid 30 second standing ovation at the PAX panel about XIV writing and art design so it’s safe to assume she now knows we all love it

For those who it may concern regarding the Crystal Tower stuff and the fall of Allag, I just went through that story helping a friend. It is as I thought: the clones explicitly say that it was a miscalculation and abuse of the Crystal Tower as an energy receiver that caused the cataclysmic earthquake that shattered continents and destroyed the Allagan Empire. It happened after they launched Dalamud and were trying to channel enough power into the Tower to open the gateway to the void. Mistakes were made, and the first test of the Dalamud transceiver on full power sent all that energy into the earth itself to apocalyptic effect.

If the item lists a shop selling price in its description, it means you can just buy more from an NPC if you ever need it. Step one in dealing with a cramped inventory is immediately discarding/selling everything that can be re-bought from shops, unless you plan to craft with it in the immediate future.

We're always hiring!

Speaking of crafting mats, is there any sort of app or add-on that maybe lists the base components for any given crafting item?

Like, select any given craftable item up in the app and it gives you a list of all of the raw mats to make one from scratch.

Kind of surprised I'm not running into more Dark Knights, given how solid their job quest reputation is, how fourteen-year-old cool they are, and how huge a push they got for this expansion. I mean, I see a few, sure, but Gunbreakers and Warriors seem to be equally popular, if not more so.

Having just finished leveling all the tanks 80, drk is probably the worst to level. You don't get your 2nd hit to your AE combo forever. You have the fewest defensive cooldowns for awhile. Managing your mp bar, while not particularly difficult, is still more work than the other tanks are having to put in (and it's kinda lame as hell until 72). And it's still probably the busiest overall tank (gunbreakers burst window is wild but outside of that it's a pretty prozaic rotation).

I hated it when I started, but I came around on it as I got higher. It starts to feel pretty good at 72 and if gunbreaker wasn't so :krad: I'd probably use it for my tank.

Asimo

I didn't really have an issue leveling it, but yeah it takes until the 70's to really feel "complete". I still say gunbreaker is a lot busier though, if more in waves than constantly. I'm still not sure where to shove all its attack buttons.

Yeah, my big problem with Dark Knight right now is that I genuinely don't feel like the class really gains its identity until it gets The Blackest Night at which point it really starts to come together. It's just that is level 70.

I feel like they should have moved it to the 50s at minimum, it serves at their anti-Tankbuster too and it's weird just how long it takes them to get that compared to the other classes.

Yeah, that button feels very boring to me, for something that's presumably supposed to feel like an awesome moment of power. I guess Bloodspiller just doesn't feel very impactful, and doing it kind of interrupts all your resource generation too, so it doesn't actually feel particularly satisfying to use. Like "okay, I guess I should be doing this now" instead of "heck yeah, I get to do this now!"

It should feel more like Triplecasting Flare imo.

I’m leveling up a white mage right now too, at level 35 now. This is also my first healer class. It’s cool and all, and healing is fun to manage (and easy to do on a controller!) but a good amount of the time it does feel like I’m just a dps with one suuuuuuper slow attack and sometimes I use cure 1 on the tank.
