Gonna bet hes never read black hawk down, which despite being generally pro American does talk about how they did poo poo like level a building full of all the most important local tribal politicians in the hopes they'd get the one Bad Guy they were trying to kill. (He wasn't there.)

Also come and see has been uploaded to youtube in its entirety if you're interested in checking it out. Its a ww2 movie made in the Soviet union back in the 80s and it's an absolutely brutal, very powerful movie. They used live ammo and real flamethrowers and stuff too.

Its so loving cathartic after the church scene. That scene doesn't really have a catharsis to it. Catharsis would've been the village survivor being able to set the Nazis on fire instead of the partisans just mowing them down. It's better than they deserved and can't even qualify as revenge. Everybody just carries the trauma with them forever. If you felt catharsis at any point during Come and See then you were misinterpreting it. What, you don't think they should honor the time where the US military sent twelve brave soldiers with no horseriding experience into a war zone to recruit some piece of poo poo war criminal into our alliance, and then those twelve brave soldiers mounted up on horses and by themselves defeated tens of thousands of Taliban fighters with tanks? I don't know about you but nothing about that story sounds like total bullshit, we should honor them with statues.

from last year: https://twitter.com/MarkPotok/status/1036278169605685249 quote:In 2004, Davis appeared at another hearing to testify on behalf of another hardline racial extremist—Chester Doles, the longtime Georgia unit leader for the National Alliance, which was for many years America’s most important neo-Nazi group. The group’s founding document calls for doing “whatever is necessary” to achieve “a White living space” through “the racial cleansing of the land.” “Ultimately,” Alliance founder William Pierce wrote elsewhere, “we will win the war only by killing our enemies.” https://twitter.com/afainatl/status/1166896367895289856 https://twitter.com/afainatl/status/1168546125449781248
