They'll just flat out ostracise you for not having an iPhone. They'll kick you out of a group chat because the iMessage text turns the wrong colour. Kids are garbage, is my point here.

The gently caress is so hard to figure out? I just think it's a funny (as opposed to "remarkable," which was definitely the wrong word) coincidence, and I had never caught it until yesterday. loving at the Seinfeld scenario though. I can 100% hear that being said by Kramer. E: so ok it's slightly OT because it's something I noticed, not figured out. Hipster_Doofus has a new favorite as of 17:37 on Sep 3, 2019 |

My friend's have middle school aged kids and apparently the whole iphone thing is just for girls and its ok for a boy to have an android. Phones brands are becoming gendered?? I hate children and brands so much. Like for both genders iphone is best, but it's much more socially acceptable for a boy to have an android. A girl with an android is absolutely unacceptable and shameful and shun-worthy.

Thank Hecate that mobile phones weren't readily available until I was out of school. It was a big deal when I got my own cordless phone in my bedroom because the rest of the phones still had cords. There were pagers, but they were considered "drug paraphernalia".

Mobile phones were just becoming a thing when I was in school (for reference: I got my first one, a Nokia 5110, when I turned 15 or 16) and nobody gave a rat's rear end what brand yours was. Some people had cool decorative cases on theirs and novelty ring tones when those became available, but it's not like those gave any real status boost either.

I've liked Weird Al since I first heard him in 1995. Initially, all I had were tapes copied from friends whose parents had more money. One of those albums was called "Even Worse." This is a picture of that album cover. Just recently, I was made aware that the album art for Michael Jackson's album "Bad" looks like this: It's very interesting being hit with a joke 24 years too late, but that makes it even funnier.
