Sakurai acknowledged that they were putting a Microsoft-owned property in their Nintendo game on last night's Nintendo Direct and encouraged everyone to go and play Banjo games on Xbox. Mortal Kombat is viable

That edited Cage one just sounds like something you would do as a kid when you couldn't input the Fatality correctly, so you told all your friends "Nuh-uh that was totally a Fatality see Sonya fell over dead!!"

I don't even have smash ultimate but I still get giddy like a little kid on all the big announcements, it's so heartwarming and brings a smile to my face watching videos of nerds freaking out over a character nobody expected for the game.

I am not digging the new Megalovania remix. I know this is insane to say since it was remixed by the composer and he has modified it several times across several projects, but my issue with it is the fact that it is at once too similar and too different from the Undertale version that made the song so popular. The Smash remix is nearly identical to the original for the first 3/4 of the song with the notable exception being that every 2nd or 3rd chord is changed, functionally different. Similar, but with a different note in the bass, and in some cases, a changed melody note. It reminds me of hearing a cover of a song where the musicians butcher a few of the chords but otherwise turn in a respectable cover. I wish that it was either completely re-harmonized and re-orchestrated so it could exist as its own unique remix or that it was just the original sound file. Hate to be a Negative Nancy about what is undoubtedly a triumph for one of my favorite video games getting representation in this living video game museum but man, it just totally baffles me. Why change those chords??

Banjo's side-b literally does beat absolutely every other move in the game aside from grabs. It even beats final smashes and the home run bat. You basically have a starman for its duration

The downward wavery bit in the main melody of the mixed megalovania is really offputting to me, which sucks because the extra stuff he changed elsewhere in the composition imo rules. Little late to the party, but I'm drat glad that Terry Bogard is coming to Smash. Anything that exposes newer generations to KoF, Fatal Fury, and Garou: MotW is a good thing.
