I just realised that even in a fairly best case Labour government scenario (with NOM since an actual majority would require the LDs to go back to getting no votes) there's going to probably be at least one brexit party MP who's going to be on every single politics program on the BBC for the rest of time

I mean 2 things are liable to happen when it comes to the BBC upon a Labour election victory. 1) Is that they will suddenly change up a load of programming (expect to see Fiona Bruce wearing a beret and talking about the Bourgoise sensibilities of many of the panel) and 2) This will not stop the directors getting booted out and then replaced with an actually semi-independent board. That and the bringing in of new legislation to hopefully tell the papers they can't just keep making poo poo up and twisting it for their billionaire owners.

Nice piece of fish posted:9. In fact I actively try to avoid speaking german, because I'm not very good. Norwegian I do speak though. Both languages, as well as obviously my own dialect which is basically incomprehensible to non-native speakers. I thought nobody actually spoke nynorsk (as opposed to writing it)

I was explaining the latest hilarious developments in the Brexit farce, but it occurred to me as I was explaining it that these politicians keep running everything into the ground for fear of losing their jobs. But everyone who has tried to Brexit has lost their job! So what the hell?

But everyone who has tried to Brexit has lost their job! So what the hell? In a lot of cases, particularly all the various cowards, traitors, quitters, etc, they know they can't stand up to an actual election, so it really doesn't matter what they do as long as it doesn't trigger an election, so they can gently caress up as royally as they want as long as it's in the service of them not getting handed their arses by people they thought cared who they were, instead of what rosette they wore.

I like this bit from the Guardian:graun posted:Sources within government said Johnson’s senior aide, Dominic Cummings, told fellow advisers on Friday that last week’s purge of rebel MPs such as Clarke was “only the beginning” of a ruthless strategy to push Brexit through. It is understood he told advisers: “By the time we get to the end of this, [those opposing Johnson’s plans] are going to melt.” Big brain Cummings.
