Tomlin should be fired solely on the basis of Anthony Chickillo getting snaps at linebacker. That’s inexcusable, especially against the Patriots.

Also, spending like 13 seasons as a head coach and not understanding timeouts or challenges.

I don't think they changed the bodyweight rule, but it's kind of play by play. They do forgive it a bit if you're kind of coming in fast and don't have a lot of choice but to land on the guy. Haven't seen the Foles hit yet

The defensive scheme seemed awful, period. If the Steelers were in base they'd just isolate an RB on a linebacker and hit an easy crossing route for 15 or 20 yards. If they were in lighter personnel they'd just run the ball successfully.

I've been saying it all offseason, this Patriots team is the best I've seen in many years and adding Antonio Brown only emphasizes that. Combined with the easiest schedule in the NFL, going perfect wouldn't surprise me at all. Still, that was a putrid effort from the Steelers on both sides of the ball. THIRTY TWO RUSHING YARDS ON THIRTEEN ATTEMPTS. Shameful

I just watched the compressed Seattle - Cincinnati game, wow that was fun! Both teams looked good. It was crazy how fast Andy was getting the ball out though, there was very little chance to get any sort of pash rush done with that quick release! Apparently the Bengals have a good pass rush though? Holy crap Russ was getting sacked a lot. Pretty clean game too, and no injuries.

I still don't get how the NFL confirmed that as a fumble.

It's week one. Pats have to play through their whole division, a division that sucks but division games are hard. They have to play the Chiefs late in the season, Baltimore coming off a bye week, an Eagles team that knows how to play them, and the most recent Super Bowl champs, the Cleveland Browns.

The Chiefs are the only ones who I think are gonna have a chance there. Almost certainly they'll be 7-0 after this next string of games.

I'm not just reacting to this game, I've thought this all offseason which is why I took their defense in all my fantasy choices. They have a really really good team and it's hard to picture them losing, although sure, the teams you mentioned have a chance.

Regardless, a loss or two is not going to affect them going to the playoffs and easily claiming the one seed.

The Puppy Bowl posted:

They came on last year and added some pieces, people have been thinking it should be a pretty good year for that group.

The Bengals actually were good though, Sam Hubbard a 2018 draft pick and Carlos Dunlap were really loving poo poo up

That was a no call challenge though, which is different than challenging a DPI call. Those have been succeeding on occasion, but refs seem really hesitant to overturn when there was a foul called on the field, even if it's clearly not PI

Yeah they only showed a couple of angles on the compressed game, but it did look like a forward throwing motion. Still, I don't think they would have been able to capitalize with 10 seconds left and no time outs if it was incomplete.

Catching up on this weeks games, starting with Bills/Jets. Josh Allen isn't unsalvageable? That's....almost a complement... He is making a lot of good on the money short throws. He had 2 horrible passes that were both picked off one was called back on a flag, and 1 more that the D just dropped. He also had 2 dumb fumbles. But all that seems fixable with decision making and time. He makes the right throws most the time, has good timing on passes, hits people in stride and is mobile enough to make plays. He does seem to have a deep ball issue. Bills D-Line looks good, they got a lot of pressure. Bills run game non existent till the 4th quarter. They won the game with big runs in the 2nd half.

Sam Darnold looks like butt. He misses simple throws and cant seem to read the field. Might be because his line was getting destroyed the whole game, but he looks scared and bad. He did look a bit better on that mid-4th series, but the playcalling did him no favors. That 3rd and 1 at the 2 minute warning in the 4th he had a guy for a touchdown and under threw him by 30 yards. His called back touchdown pass was hilarious. That little "Oh gently caress" flip is fantastic. His actual TD throw has bad but Bell bailed him out with a shoestring catch. Bell looks good. Lots of extra yardage out of plays on him. He seems to be the entire Jets team.

Bonus: Fire whoever called that 3rd and 2 QB sneak.

1st-3rd quarter Josh Allen was absolute rear end. While I was watching the game, the QB comparison I thought of was "Sexy Rexy" Grossman, a QB well-known for having a cannon arm and making terrible decisions with the football.
4th quarter Josh was a lot better, and the game-winning TD pass to John Brown sticks out to me as really good: he clearly understood where Brown and the DB were looking and where they would be, and delivered it to where only Brown had a shot at the ball.

Also, surely you have heard of Brian Daboll, protege of Bellichick and Saban, esteemed former offensive coordinator of the Browns(2009-10), Dolphins(2011), and Chiefs(2012).

Grier is....not ready. He's currently third behind kyle allen.

As far as moving on from Cam, his contract is basically up after this year. It would only cost 2 mil to cut him after the season, and they'd free up 19 million in cap space.

but i honestly wouldn't be surprised if he just retires.
