So I've started grinding Klingon/Ferengi Admiralty on my main and I have a question about Tour of Duty missions. What I would like to know is if there is any sort of timing or logic as to when they appear ? I had Ferengi 7/10 show up last night and after I claimed it today 8/10 showed up 5 jobs later.

No, there isn't. Some days I get the next one quickly after the last, other days I have to go through a dozen missions before the next appears.

Yeah as far as I know it's just completely RNG, beyond not being able to have a step appear while the prior one is available/running. If it's proving annoying just use a bunch of skip tokens until it shows up, it's not like there's really any other reason to use them.

This is actually most of what I was wondering about, there apparently being no point in doing one track while it has a ToD on deck or active. Yeah Fed & Rom lines are kinda pointless but with latinum almost useless there's little point to keeping on the Ferengi track while one of its ToDs is going.

They're useful for campaign xp. The rhode island and the zdenia are very good cards, especially for new players.

Oh I've already 10/10d all tracks at least 2-3 times over, I just feel the need to get more dil income & free XP points I can spend on training boffs with as many possible skills I can cram into them (with some exceptions for skills costing lolnuts, fleet cred & hella expensive lockbox ones).

Yeah, once you get the ships the only ones worth doing are klink and ferengi and yeah, there's little point after you get the big mission.

the only real exception is if there's one on deck with a fat dil reward. I've gotten 4 or 5k before off a 2k mission that I stacked with reward multipliers.

I still don't fully understand what a critical admiralty mission will affect, loot-wise.

Is it everything in the normal mission rewards area?

What about rewards from the RNG mission event?

Is the effect that affected loot is doubled?

Are crits the only way to earn pass tokens once you've reached rank 10 in the faction? (pretty sure reaching ranks along the way gave pass tokens)

Is the effect that affected loot is doubled? > 50%, not doubled, on the base rewards, although you can have additional bonuses that increase them further. eg, dil goes from 100 to 150, XP goes from 1000 to 1500 (though it'll probably be more like 1900 with armada bonuses and such)

Are crits the only way to earn pass tokens once you've reached rank 10 in the faction? > yep

Yeah he did a great job with what he was given. Honestly, this has been a pretty good patch all around. The new event and patrol interfaces are nice, the new task force is pretty laid back for a ground mission, the new patrols are pretty good (though I've only done half of them so far), and it's nice to see continued elaboration on STO-unique plot threads like the Lukari and the Elachi.

It's probably better written and more engaging than Discovery proper at this point, but that doesn't say much. :v: My only real complaint is cryptic loving up costume unlock stuff as usual, seems like remans didn't get klingon faction costume unlocks, including my klankreman main.

EDIT: Guess this applies to fed remans too, as well as romulans who aren't really "romulans" due to being unique BOFFs like Tovan Khev. Cryptic really needs to clean up their costume system. :downs:

You get a choice of 15 marks per patrol. Workable if you just want marks to level a couple of reps.

Or you could do a random tfo for probably 10 times that amount, with dil and elite rep items if you do advanced. The new UI for the patrols is really nice, but I see zero reason to run them once the event is over unless you're leveling ship XP. And you really don't need to level ship XP very often, and it was already pretty fast in argala.

The new TFO is painfully slow to complete and highly repetitive since each area looks basically the same. Also only gives you half of your 60 so you'll be playing it twice per day.

The new story mission is okay. By STO standards I'll call it good content. Probably still not something you want to repeat every day and it's also not exactly quick.

Patrols it is!

That pack reminded me that I had a T6 B'rel sitting in dry dock and I'm not sure why I let it languish. I mean it doesn't have fancy specialty whatever, but raiders are hard to find in general, the disco one is absolutely hideous, the B'rel performs Just Fine (and is extra hilarious with all the romulan boffs boosting the cloak damage), and it's one of the best looking canon designs in the series easily. The *-linked disruptor weapons have great visuals too, may as well stick with this for a while.

My Klank tac has a fleet one that I dry docked because I got a Kelvin BoP, which has pilot maneuvers and looks cool when it does em.

I saw a Kelvin D7 up close in space today and blech, the model and textures are just straight up not good. The effect of EC inflation on box ships these days is crazy, 700 million for an admittedly good escort with a lazy rear end ugly model? No thanks.

Yeah I'd be using that except I have a romulan and they're stuck with the intel carrier. Which to be fair was pretty great... right up until they made flight deck cruisers into full carriers, so now it's kind of pathetic. Even if it still looks cool. :toot:

I have sorta been dumping dilithium and fleet marks whenever I can to random fleet holdings. Are there some that are more important? Also how can I help out more aside from donating resources when I got it? Just hit Rear Admiral and tried to no avail to get a lock box T6, so now I have a few extra goodies to pop into the fleet bank but I guess all lot box things are account locked for a week. I have a spare Epic Kit Smoke Gel Trap Mk X if anyone needs it.
