My mom never forgave Mayor Drapeau for "modernizing" Montreal by destroying the old historical buildings and replacing them with ugly crap. Artist Morton Rosengarten (friend of Leonard Cohen) had pretty much the same opinion, he just up and left to live in the Eastern Townships afterward. (I met him a few times thanks to friends of a friend stuff, he's really cool)
