FWIW on older cats, the fur gets disreputable-looking because the buds/hooks on their tongues get dull and they can't "comb" their fur when they wash. Give her a good brushin' a couple times a week; she deserves it for making us all happy.

We're kind of brought up to believe that wild animals spend 100% of their time eating/sleeping/mating because that's what Nature Demands, but it seems like they actually spend a heck of a lot of time just messing around, like we all ought to.
