I don't see why this picture is a problem. The only group it could offend is the Saudis and the planet would be vastly better off if we quarantined and turned Saudi Arabia into glass, so really who gives a gently caress?

We already know Trudeau has piss-poor decision making skills and the maturity of a child, if this is the best dirt the Conservatives can dig up then they deserve to lose.

It looks like SNC Aladdin is definitely going to get away with this, based on the way partisan Liberals are lining up to tweet variations of "2001 was a long time ago!!!"

Almost seems like a honeypot to me, Cons playing the lets dig up old racist photos game isnt going to go well.

Although it would be hilarious to see the NDP pull a 2002 winter olympics.

The thing that worries me about that is that the NDP are having trouble getting candidates confirmed. I don't think they're strong enough to pounce on weakness.

If I were in Canada for this election and there wasn't an NDP candidate in my riding yet I would absolutely run and this thread would know it was me because every speech would be about how we're all going to die from climate change.

Emilie Taman is running in my riding. Anyone have thoughts on her? I’m not much of a McKenna fan, and this riding is either going red or orange.

Volunteered for her byelection run in Ottawa-Vanier and now Ottawa-Centre. Gave the Libs a good scare.

Was crown prosecutor. Did environmental law, human trafficking, and mostly tax evasion. She's not a radical eco-socialist but based on conversations she genuinely cares and has great ideas on how to tax the rich.

Tax the rich is literally the first you see when you come in the office.

She's a solid candidate. Bilingual too. Her mother is SoC justice Louise Arbour.

Won't be easy but it's a winnable riding

e: I've volunteered for a few candidates. Besides a close personal friend, she was my favorite to volunteer for.

Philpott was bar none the most competent minister in the Trudeau ministry, and her resigning when she had her political career made took serious guts. I think her riding is the only riding in the country I would personally even consider not voting NDP?

Big surprise: a Canadian PM is racist. The thing I don't get is why everybody is saying this will help the Conservatives, who earlier this week said they would stand by people who did racist things in the past. Nobody is going to say Trudeau is too racist and then vote Conservative; the Conservatives have this type of thing as a core of their platform. So does this just increase the number of people throwing their vote away with a third party?
