I mean, wasn't part of that polling that inaccurately overestimated Labor's edge?

ASK ME ABOUT LUMBER

30+ percent of british voters are genuine crazed reactionaries who get all their news from papers run by incredibly evil people. blair got those papers onside, but corbyn absolutely cannot and should not do that. this means that labour has to go fishing in the remaining sixty-oss percent of the population, where they're seeing some hard competition from the lib dems who've managed to make themselves the default party of remain identity politics

swinson seems to be screwing up a bit, but it's going to take some doing to wrest the people wounded by labour's apparent dithering on brexit back from her. barring that, they need farage to run and split the death cult vote

Nobody has a clue what people will do on polling day, I'd kinda expect people to swing back to Labour even if they don't like Corbyn - putting that X on the general election box actually means something. gently caress knows what the hell is going to happen with Farage's lot, I'd kinda of expect them to get a chunk of the "England!" votes the Tories normally get but not as many as you'd think. I'm kind of expecting the Libdems to not do anywhere near as well as their press office tells people they're going to. Nobody knows who the crap any of them are.

Plus point - Corbyn and co winning or at least doing better than anyone else with the media crap on them, means the party can happily run socialists as leaders for the rest of my lifetime. Which'd be nice.

yeah i do think that labour's magnificent elctoral machine should make a dent, at least, but it's not going to be enough unless they get back some tribal remain votes from the lib dems, who've just doubled down in that regard and are now basically wreckers

Also of the 60% or so that labour will be trying to pick up votes from 75% won't vote if it means they have to face a light drizzle. (The 30% would face a nuclear winter to put a tick in the box of their favourite racist.)

It's the old "suffering builds character" mantra repeated and espoused by those who aren't experiencing any hardship now but ascribe going through nebulous forms of it in the past to their success.
