Technically accurate, but likely to be interpreted completely wrongly. Now the real scary thing is that CJD can take up to 40 years to develop (although I'm not sure if that applies to vCJD) so theres still a small chance that we're all going to drop dead with holes in our brains.

We’re really going to struggle to shorten them more than the 1hr30 mark as it is on one episode a week, and editing two episodes a week every week will kill me and any personal relationships I have in my real life. This one ran over a bit, it can happen, and we’re trying to keep to the 1hr 30 as a standard maximum going forward.

As a doctor, I wouldn't worry about CJD. Mainly because it can only be diagnosed via post-mortem and presents very similarly to Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia. And because nobody does post-mortems on dementia patients, nobody is actually looking for it so it would almost certainly fly totally under the radar. Some people think we could've had hundreds or even thousands of CJD deaths already and we wouldn't know anything about it. So yeah, don't worry about it.

I remember reading a short story in a science fiction anthology years ago. The background premise was that pretty much everyone who ate beef had been infected with CJD by the time it was discovered, pretty much dropkicking the Western world in the testicles. India then became the global supervisor due to Hindu dietary restrictions. I can't remember who wrote it or where, but I'm pretty sure the protagonists were British survivors producing Bollywood knockoffs.

I mean I've never heard of him but if he quits while screaming to the press because he doesn't think labour's going to win and hates class war or whatever then maybe he doesn't have a particularly constructive view of politics. "I don't think we're going to win so I'm going to make sure we don't" is insane logic unless you think politics just exists for your personal benefit. Like it's very hard to believe anyone who runs to the press screaming about labour's unelectability because if you were concerned about that you would maybe not be doing the thing you're doing.

You don't really understand how British party politics works, do you? The Parliamentary Labour Party already tried to push out Jeremy Corbyn in 2016. He hasn't actually given this to the press, it's all from private correspondence with colleagues if you believe Shipman, meaning one of his apparent friends leaked it. Labour haven't disputed the authenticity though, for what it's worth. This is his official resignation statement: https://twitter.com/RaynerSkyNews/status/1175534181666951173 What does any of it mean? Who knows. The right-wing press is obviously trying to make out this is a killer blow, but then they would. The fact that he isn't stepping down until after a snap election means he clearly hasn't stormed out or anything.
