The reason why is because Allen essentially lost a season and half because of injuries. (2015 lacerated kidney and then he tore his knee against Marcus Peters in 16) When he's healthy he's absolutely at minimum a top 10 WR in the league and the last few years have bore it out.

I know this won't happen, but if you exclude week 1 and just go by how many yards per game Frank Gore averaged, pretended he missed week 1 and just extrapolate this out 15 games he ends up with a 1000 yard season. He would be the oldest HB to do so, breaking the record set by a then 33 year old...Frank Gore.

Something really cool about the NFL today is the success of these young QBs who were drafted brimming with potential and no polish. I think Mahomes would have busted on the vast majority of teams, Ravens included. The system Reid built around him scheming players wide open in space/time windows that only Mahomes could hit has been magical. Then you look at the crop of young not yet officially good QBs in Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and... holy poo poo Daniel Jones. It seems like the league has finally learned to build play calling and roster design to the talents of the signal caller and not the other way around.

Their QB rankings so far this season:

1. Tom Brady
2. Dak Prescott
3. Carson Wentz
4. Russell Wilson
5. Deshaun Watson
6. Patrick Mahomes
7. Derek Carr
8. Gardner Minshew
9. Aaron Rodgers
10. Jimmy Garoppolo

Mahomes has 417 yards and three TDs more than Deshaun Watson and no picks to Watson's 1. Whatever your algorithm is to come up with this ranking you need to go back to the drawing board you fuckin nerds

Included in negatives they applied to Mahomes was passes that should have been intercepted and fumbles including the one that the center hiked to the other team. They said that Mahomes had three turnovers this week.

His terrible footwork his undisciplined arm angles! He's gonna throw so many interceptions!!!

Mahomes junior year: 591 attempts, 10 INT. Rate: 1.7%

Mahomes pro career: 729 attempts 13 INT.

Rate: 1.7%

He's the rare guy that doesn't need either foot planted to throw 50 yard dimes. He wouldn't have busted. The problem was that the framework for predicting NFL success hadn't seen him yet. His decisions are still as reckless as ever it's just that he has the strength and accuracy to pull off inadvisable throws.

I have gifs if you need visual evidence.
