Not saying it’s not worth doing but I don’t know if the dam will ever break for him baring an economic meltdown.

The hearing are going to be broadcast everywhere, likely popping that Fox News bubble. They're certainly try to spin it, but it's going to be insane.

I will say, now that they're impeaching him, they need to take atleast some time to in comittee to really lay out this poo poo. Start calling in witnesses and put them on the spot, preferably with professional lawyers doing the questioning. Skipping right to a vote would be misplaying this, the time in the house before the final vote is their oppurtunity to make their case to the public. The Senate's rules sure as hell wont let them do it there.

i am not pretending to tell you how the elections will turn out - not least, because predicting exactly how the spoiler effect plays out in each district in the UK is hard as balls when the tories ALSO have a spoiler - just that the people who look at the polls in the UK think that if Boris got the early election he wants, he would be favored. not guaranteed to win, but favored - and that is a loooooooooooong way away from the dead man walking that people think he would be.

the 'remain' strategy seems to be to force him into a delay in the hopes that it breaks his hold on the hard-right "leave" voters, they go back to the brexit party, and the brexit party plays the role of spoiler and torpedos him rather than the greens/libdems/etc playing the role of spoiler to labor

Since it seems like the whistleblower can and will go speak directly to the House and Senate intel committees, so I'd guess they see there's not really any sense in trying to fight the release of the complaint. Better to be seen complying then spin it once it's out.

no

basically, think of Parliament like the House of Representatives. every district votes, the plurality winner takes the whole seat. it's not proportional representation.

about half of the UK is "leave" and about half is "remain", no need to get more precise than that.

labor is not a remain party. they have substantial amounts of "leave" voters and corbyn will not campaign on a "remain" platform. similarly, the tories were not a "leave" party - they had lots of "remain" voters.

beyond labor, there are some assorted left-wing parties, most notably the Liberal Democrats (formerly a strong third party, but then they sold their soul to join with the tories in a coalition government) who are the only party with a formal "remain" platform. on the right, there's the brexit party, a hard "leave" party. now, you can easily form a coalition when elected: if there's a majority of leftist seats they control parliament even if no one leftist party has a majority.

but that is not the case in the actual election. in a labor v. tories election, the real issue is how many seats that should go "left" or "right" get flipped via the spoiler effect (e.g. 10 conservative votes, 8 labor votes, 4 libdem votes goes to the conservatives despite a "left" majority; or 10 labor, 8 conservatives, 4 brexit). so even if Boris only has a solid 45% of the vote, and the other parties have 55% (numbers picked out of a hat) he has a very good chance of winning, IF he can eliminate the spoiler on his side.

that is what his plan basically has been: he's moved hard towards the brexit party to try to marginalize them and collect all of their votes, while playing on Labor's inability to come out as a hard "remain" party and thereby steal the conservative votes that he places at risk by going hard leave (corbyn being so far left also assists him there, making it easier to hold onto tory remainers). corbyn can't eliminate his spoilers without coming out as a remain party, and he's been more wishy-washy on that than may was.

as a result, boris is favored if he can call an early election, because he may have eliminated his spoiler while corbyn didn't eliminate his. that may change if he's forced past 10/31 and forced to extend.
