So your idea is worldwide adoption of socialism before climate change kills us all? How is deriding millions of people working towards a common goal (better climate policy) contributing to that?

I wouldn’t tell kids at protest marches they’re being used, I would tell them about the ways in which capitalism is fundamentally incapable of addressing a problem like climate change and that nothing can be gained by expecting the class that is both responsible for the problem and is the most insulated from its effects to do anything about it. We’re already being prepared for ecofascism, the rich would rather rule over the post-apocalypse than give up their stranglehold on power to prevent most of the world from dying

I also find it a bit depressing that the focus on Greta seems to be about how brave she is and how dare Fox News call her bad names, but the climate strikes are undoubtedly motivating a tonne of people. I don't see striking and protests as within the sphere of acceptable disagreement and at the very least it's good practice and network building so I can't be against it.

It's going to be some never before seen corpo governance because they're going to have invested like $900b stopping climate change by 2030 and governments will still have done nothing, causing them to be abandoned.

you assume that I wasn't posting disingenuously as well

but okay. Jeremy Corbyn is popular enough that he's survived two serious coup attempts in his own party and has been a consistent leader for the past four years while the Tories have fallen apart

he doesn't want to be Prime Minister, he just wants to kill the Tories and destroy Thatcher's legacy, and with the whole Brexit thing dividing the Tories he's doing an amazing job at that

but the reason Corbyn is not going to win a general election in a landslide is because the British public is consistently wrong about everything, hence why 52% of the British public voted for Brexit, because we all have such horrible media literacy that we believe anything that's written on a bus, even when it's not true

anyway, Corbyn is the reason that the Labour Party isn't dead and Theresa May isn't residing over a majority government, and yr guy Albanese should be a lot more like him if he wants to be Prime Minister of Australia any time soon

The federal government is considering challenging Australian Capital Territory laws legalising the recreational use of cannabis, with the home affairs minister, Peter Dutton, describing the new laws as unconscionable.

“I think it might be trendy for the ACT government to go down this path, and they’ll say they’re enlightened and progressive and all the rest of it,” Dutton told 2GB radio on Thursday. “But I think it’s dangerous.

Now Scummo was all smuggo about "Australia only contributes 1.3% of the worlds emissions" (Citation required btw Scummo). Sounds pretty good until you do the math and discover we are only 0.3% of the worlds population (24.5 million out of 7,750 million). Developed country and all that but it means we are disproportionately loving the planet and the more we do (per capita) the better it is for the planet (per capita). Nice own goal you post factual muppet.
