I have no idea if this is :filez: or not but there's a couple of websites out there that have basically any 80s cartoon you can remember to stream. I'll edit it out if it's not cool.

The one I've been using is watch cartoon online dot io and it hasn't let me down so far. Conan The Adventurer, Thundarr, Ulysses 31, Spartakus and the Sun Beneath The Sea. None of them are something I'm going to watch more than an episode of for the nostalgia, but sometimes it's nice to be reminded of a simpler time.

Edit: bad snipe. Have a picture.

Is that the one with White Wriggler(?) as the villain? No idea what the plot or who the protagonists were, just remember the sad, fat white robot.

That's the one. Bizarre French animation.

Speaking of, I just found out there was a 2012 sequel series to The Mysterious Cities of Gold. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I read some summaries a while back and nearly all of them amounted to 'Conan is a violent rear end in a top hat who kills a bunch of people over basically nothing'. In some of them he's straight up a pirate or highway robber killing innocent people. I can only imagine there's a dfferent series where he appears as the deserved antagonist

I always liked the Thundarr one...

The year, 1994. From out of space, comes a runaway planet, hurtling between the Earth and the moon, unleashing cosmic destruction. Man's civilization is cast in ruin. Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn. A strange new world rises from the old. A world of savagery, super-science, and sorcery. But one man bursts his bonds to fight for justice. With his companions, Ookla the Mok and Princess Ariel, he pits his strength, his courage, and his fabulous Sunsword, against the forces of evil. He is Thundarr, the Barbarian!

Fun fact, Okkla the Mok is named after the University of California, Los Angeles, UCLA.

We almost had a modern version of this, too. :(

The Japanese opening theme to Space Battleship Yamato does the exact same thing, so that one's more of a coincidence. It's a classic of a song though.

Explain everything every time, remember this was the 80s Saturday morning when we were full of chocula and fruity pebbles and had the attention span of coked up gnats, but there were no alternatives since channel 3 was jazzercise and channel 9 was that creepy preacher guy with the Muppets. So we watched the cartoons

I had a look at the new opening - they used the same song (new version), which is interesting.

I'm not sure how to feel either. I'll just listen to the Ulysses 31 theme instead.

Finding games like this to play with toddlers are absolutely essential imo, otherwise they get insufferable. I play something similar where I try to throw a blanket on my kid. Tires him out after about half an hour of sprinting up and down the hallway.

Yep. I worked as a nanny for a while; the holy grail of toddler games is any game that involves them running around while you stay still but are still involved.

Channel 3 was a CBS affiliate and was pretty fuzzy. 6 was an ABC affiliate and was very fuzzy. 10 was NBC and the only channel that came in 100 percent clear. There was a Fox and PBS station higher up but they were only visible in good weather and super fuzzy even then. And that was it until we got DirectTV my senior year of high school, which blew my mind with choices.

We lived in a valley with no line-of-sight to the San Francisco transmitters on Sutro Tower, so there was a repeater on a nearby mountain that was run as a community co-op.

Periodically there would be a crawl along the bottom of the grainy wavy picture imploring us to donate so they could continue bringing us 4 channels of programming.
