I think she's there until 10/7.

The quickest way to deal with her is the same as it was in H1: Use the Krugermeier to pop her in the head when she leans out over the rail. Stand right by the electric switch, and when she leans out, there's a ~2 second window where nobody's looking at you. You can pop her, stow your gun, and run to the exit before her escorts get up there, for a super-easy SASO. My total mission time for that was about two minutes, mostly waiting for her to wander over to the edge.

She leans over the edge really early on, you can be out of the level in well under a minute from the default start.

This first run is not a tutorial, but instead a Unique Accidents and No Knockouts/No Disguise Changes run of The Last Resort on Professional based somewhat on Pilchenstein's run. I probably could've done it on Master as he did and had it still work, but I'm not positive. The No Knockouts thing isn't necessary and definitely makes Vetrova easier to deal with. Not sure if there's a faster way to take out Williams than this method Pilch came up with, it's about as quick a kill as I could manage, clocking in at around 0:31-0:34 or so. Killing the other two was very time-consuming, but since it's a restriction run I don't mind that too much and I still got a sub-4:00 time overall.

You could avoid phone cheese by slogging some propane from the grill area near the villa start and setting up a trap by the weights, I think. Bradley's guard doesn't stay too close to him while he's working out.

That's what I remembered from H1 too, but even from default start, it still took a while for her to stand up and dicker around on the roof before leaning over. It seemed to take longer this time around.

Frisks in general are pretty toothless once you learn the maps. I can't think of a single location in either game where you can't bypass a frisk with relative ease via routing or the like. Getting frisked is rarely faster than not, even, which I think is a mistake and would make level design a bit more interesting. Plus most frisk points can be bypassed with a flashbang or even an explosive, if you want to go hard.

Poison does count? It's considered an accidental death.

It's not. It behaves pretty much the same way as an accident but doesn't actually count as one.

It's really annoying that some targets have walk speeds that are slower than your own. I wish I could just hold down W and cruise control follow a target, instead of having to keep start walking, pass them, stop walking, keeping an eye on them waiting for them to catch up.

If that's the case then that's just IOI setting up that elusive to allow accidents and poisonings but being vague in the description. The engine does not consider poisonings to be accidents is the point I'm making.

While I was merrily killing away in Haven Island, I realized that people were talking about some kind of cheaty murderphone, and I realized I had done almost all of the Bank missions, except one. The Heist. That's some dumb mission structure, to have it be all the steps you have to take nearly every time to access the vault, but unless you complete it in the very specific order and pacing that IOI want, you will fail it.

Well, now I've done it and I got the phone. I guess I'll go back and use it on someone in Haven Island.

So, what are some good, general-purpose methods of sending targets into lockdown, while maintaining SA? I haven't really tried since Hitman 2016, so I've completely forgotten. Would setting off a remote-detonated bomb in a vacant part of the map work, or?

Did they never fix sniper rifles? I'm in Colorado trying sniper assassin again from the water tower; no one can see me, no one can see who I'm shooting, the entire map is gunning for me after a single headshot (they still don't know I'm here but they're aiming at exactly where the gun fired). It happened in Bangkok too, I was just able to hide there - in Colorado they're infinitely active.

Setting off an explosion does the trick - remote explosive, propane, whatever. I tend to do it close to the target (while ensuring the explosion doesn’t hit anyone) but not sure if there are proximity requirements.

An explosion nearby should work, but the simplest method is just to shoot the ground or a wall near them from a fair distance away. The only reason not to just pop off two pistol shots in their general direction is if you'd be seen doing it; the advantage of dropping and blowing a duck is nobody really cares or ties the two actions together and back to you, so it's nice when you cannot avoid scrutiny, such as getting Abiatti into lockdown immediately at the start of Landslide.

I did an escalation a couple days ago where I had to kill some guys from the Chawls with a sniper rifle. One of them is a queens guard all the way over by the trains. I missed my shot and he took off running. I waited thinking he'd go back to the patrol route.

Nope he ran clear across the map right to the apartment ledge I was standing on. I shot him in the head from like five feet. I don't think that's how that one was supposed to work.

I retried the Sniper Assassin Mastery in Haven by creating a server collapse, pulled it off flawlessly, left the compound and headed for the exit... and some random mook just hanging out by the back deck just happened to turn, spotted and ruined my SA as I was only 10 seconds away from reaching the exit :cripes:

The whole server farm under the villa is so freakin’ cool, I wish there were more interaction options there. I’d love to mess with the ventilation or the power, or steal data cores like in the bank. I emptied the entire area and hid everyone in lockers, closets, and the changing room and just wandered around for a while. I think next time, I’ll do it again and try to electrocute them all at the central computers.

I don't think you have to shoot the propane. I walked up while the one guard was making fun of the other. He's got his back to the ladder long enough to unpack the rifle and climb. Unless you mean doing it suit only as well.

Oh goddammit, I had an almost perfect SA on the last ET.

Started as a guard, went right out of the compound to trigger the two guards conversation, then doubled back and when they'd finished and one had a smoke I climbed the drainpipe to the roof. Threw a coin, then climbed up on the ledge to tranq the guard from a brilliant vantage point. I then peeked around the sight blocking trellis on the roof and tranqed the other guard, before running out and throwing a shuriken at the ET.

The problem is I was just a bit too fast and the second guard wasn't yet unconscious from the dart, so now he's a witness, and I can't restart the ET because she's dead. Dammit.

I know it's a bit late now, but a friend of mine did something similar and alt+F4'd the game after the kill - it didn't count the attempt, so he was able to do it again. I'm not sure if I'd be game enough to do that myself (especially since I've gotten all the SA bonuses, anyway) but well, I guess it's something to keep in mind in future, for anyone else trying to get the winter coat.
