SlothfulCobra posted:I wonder if any sad fool will ever try doing an LP where they take over the whole world and actually port the game into Stellaris. Grey Hunter did a Ghana LP where he did exactly that, albeit porting it to Distant Worlds. GSD posted:If I recall, in the epilogue, the Hanseatic, Socialist, and Space Alien Tech worlds slowly got used to living in peace and getting along and they translated alien speech into german and went to the stars in 1950. My original plan was to have every space civilization also be humans from Earth, except with different civilizations coming out on top, since other than Hive or Robots there's barely any difference between species in Stellaris. All seeded by the Ancient Selatani, naturally, but mostly so the Hansa could continue its love and hate relationship with Aztecs for another game.

Stellaris is relatively recent, and most people burn out after so many games in a single narrative. And any space game would have to be so different, politically-speaking, compared to conflicts within a single planet, that it would be an entirely different narrative altogether, so that's another obstacle.

I'd say the biggest obstacle is Stellaris being the weakest of the contemporary PDS games.

Yeah you need to wait at least three expansions before a modern Paradox game is good

Stellaris is now a good game and it fills a niche in the genre that really nothing else does. It's very much its own thing, and I appreciate that about it. I still only have about half the playtime in Stellaris as I do in the other main titles (250ish for Stellaris compared to 400+ hours for CK2/EU4/HOI4) though. And Imperator clocks in at a pitiful 20.

What a wild ride, thanks for the great LP Hashim. In the spirit of everyone else asking about their characters, how was Mirza al-Din's tenure as Chief of the Red Army/did he get up to anything after that?

Definitely tried his hand at a political career after the war, but he's always been under the watchful eye of Mizanur so I doubt he'd be able to get very far before sidelined or forced into an early retirement. Also, I've finally started working on the mod, sorry for the delay but I needed some time away from modding. Someone also asked me to show off some of the focus tree possibilities for other nations, so I'll try and get some pics of those soon.

I've actually been thinking about going back to CK2, since I've got an extremely interesting game going on right now. Not sure whether there are any other CK2 LPs going on atm though.

As long as you weren't planning on doing the exact same region as a currently running lp I'd say just post, there's enough content in CK2 that any two games should be more than different enough.

the more ck2 the better, i say. everybody's writing style is different and it's good to have variety my nuclear scientist gharbia man probably didn't have anything interesting happen to him, maybe he helped build peaceful nuclear power plants or nuclear reactors in space or ICBMs and thermonuclear horror bombs i wonder if people would be more, or less scared of nuclear technology in this world? oh, and how did the space race go? edit: also this was an incredibly good LP and i really appreciate you doing it for the last two and a half years editedit: and i still think the unbroken tradition of a mediterranean cultural world in which islamic and christian nations and peoples participated equally in the enlightenment would culturally enrich this world in a way our world isn't not worth all the nuclear death and boots stomping on a human face forever and such though oystertoadfish fucked around with this message at 14:06 on Jun 29, 2019 |

Yeah I haven't played CK2 in two years, so it feels like a new game at this point. I don't have a lot of free time right now, but I'll still go for it since this LP would be much smaller-scale with more of an erratic update schedule. So I've thrown up a new thread here. First update will be later tonight, once I can sit down and write something.

I know the feeling. And keeping a mod updated for the active PDS games is a real pain, since they get a few major patches every year that will definitely break compatibility and it's very hard to find the motivation to update the mod when you've already moved on from the game.Hashim posted:I think this might've been the last version I posted in the thread - link.
