This happened last time someone posted a .gif of some workers getting zapped on some power-lines and falling limp(being dead) and I commented that they got electrocuted or something... Let's all agree to just call being "electrocuted" being "the ol' zip zap" now.

Excuse me, but is that a railing for a staircase on the left side of the picture? That guy should really be wearing fall protection. When I worked framing I once watched a guy slip off a ladder like that guy is standing on. He was right next to a 2nd-story window. He nearly fell out of the window and was only saved by railing his nuts on the bar we had just installed across the window to prevent workers from falling out of the window.

I once got some lil zaps off a centrifugal pump, but nobody believed me. Isnt it possible? Keep in mind this was in a wet environment (keg washer), and it was a cheap 120v 15a pump (not washdown)

FuturePastNow posted:Experimentation with civil uses of nuclear warheads mostly pre-dates OSHA but is a very OSHA thing Topically: https://www.fpri.org/article/2019/09/coal-mines-land-mines-and-nuclear-bombs-the-environmental-cost-of-the-war-in-eastern-ukraine/ quote:Perhaps most worrying is the state of the YunKom Mine, where in 1979 Soviet scientists set off an underground nuclear explosion in the hope of clearing gases from deep in the mine.[7] YunKom at the time was the oldest mine in the Central Donbas, and was 915 meters deep. Plans called for digging further and mining at a depth of 1,250 meters. The problem was that below 600 meters in depth, toxic gas began escaping from seams in the bedrock. Scientists from the Skochinsky Institute of Mining near Moscow came up with a plan: they would place a nuclear bomb inside a chamber at the deepest part of the mine and explode it. The hope was that the force of the explosion would create “tears” in the bedrock seams, forcing the seeping gas out and to the top of the mine.
