Yikes. This is why I hate bobtailing in bad weather and am always happy when I get a 40k+ pound load to help weigh me down for that extra traction. I've had to do something similar a few times but not to the degree or length that champ did it for.

I especially liked the part where Xu was forced to put on clown makeup before he would be allowed to fight one dude, and all I could imagine was this angry martial artist with crudely applied Juggalo paint beating the hell out of a tai chi master who, underneath the blood and bruises and smeared makeup, was really and truly regretting his poor decisions. Also, gently caress the Chinese government forever. If they're communist, I'm a watermelon.

There is a long long loooooooong history of people being super delusional about their fighting abilities and learning a short sharp lesson when they step into the ring with a martial artist who actually knows how to fight. I should go post some in the GBS Schadenfreude thread. Some of the stories are very when it becomes obvious that the deluded dude has mental issues.

Good to know that even I could flail wildly and fall on my rear end just as well as a proclaimed master of Tai chi. Possibly better.

Xu Xiaodong is a loving badass, holy poo poo. I remember seeing that first video some time ago, but I had no idea that beating the hell out of charlatans was his whole thing.

You are all lauding the man for his physical bad-arsery, (which is all well and good. Yay him beating up charlatans!) But I am more impressed/admire him more for being an inadvertent, reluctant political dissident. You have a middle aged man, who likes to fight people he doesn't like, and chose MMA because in it you can punch and kick your opponent in any god-drat way you want becoming a voice for freedom due only to the pettiness, and thin skinned nature of the CCP and their bullshit "5,000 years of culture" bullshit. Honestly, if they had left him alone, he would just be a small business owner, teaching his MMA to his clientele, and maybe be known locally as "the stocky punchy guy that runs the gym". Instead he is an internationally known badarse. More power to him, and long may he continue to beat up those who think that they are better than him.

Chigurh does get the money. It’s implied instead of directly shown, but it is very strongly implied. He went to the room where Llewelyn was killed and removed the AC vent. He knew from earlier in the movie that that’s where Llewelyn would hide it. The Mexicans didn’t have time to search because they sped off after shooting him.
