Also, I think considering the videos we've seen of people dropping trees on cars, houses and themselves, "tree morons" is pretty apt. Also also, isn't that second picture of the tri-maran one of the littoral combat ships, where the US Navy made the manufacturer remove the sacrificial anode from the hull to cut costs, thus ensuring the ship would literally dissolve in salt water? If it's the ship I'm thinking of, it's also the one where the USN equipped a fancy new gun on it that they have never and will never manufacture ammunition for.

The power strip falls to the floor and the device is unplugged. He puts the strip back on the table and the torque of it being plugged back in is what causes it to jump?

It was still switched on, so as soon as it was plugged in the blade started up and bounced it off of the table. I'd think something like that would have a dead man's switch though. Maybe he bypassed it?

An amateur racer decided to use a counterfeit seat belt from Aliexpress for a race https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bcXfynJRnQ https://www.thedrive.com/news/29980/brutal-crash-video-shows-why-buying-counterfeit-racing-gear-online-is-an-awful-idea quote:Neither the video nor the comments provide any clues as to where and when this was shot, but what's clear is that the man's brush with death was caused by a counterfeit racing harness. Accompanying the clip are a few photos—one showing how the belt tongues literally snapped off in the central buckle, and another showing the very same "OMP" harness for sale on Chinese retailer AliExpress for the low, low price of $36. It should be noted that OMP is a well-regarded brand whose real multi-point harnesses retail for as much as $750. Why would anyone cheap out on safety equipment and then put themselves in the very situation where they will need that protection

Look if the gods meant for dead mans switches to work they wouldn't have given us zip ties. Also a lot of cheap hand grinders have just on and off switches. I'd have to look at the one I have but I'm pretty sure the $20 harbor freight angle grinder locks on and you have to disengage the switch to turn it off. The dewalt ones I have use a paddle switch that cuts the power if you let go, even have little safety legs you can set to lock it off.

I've not taken a Metabo apart but the DeWalt grinders which have a locking switch also have a device inside that prevents the grinder from turning on if it is energized while the switch engaged. If you're doing literal hours of grinding, that locking switch is a must have. E: DeWalt calls the switch No Lock-On
