I'm fine with Paradox going after sweet sweet mobile money, but they really should know their core audience enough to know that this is not something to pretend is exciting.

Too bad they didn't make a mobile version of CK2 instead where you play on a much smaller geographical scale, so a mobile device can handle it, but with all the fun character stuff. That might have been interesting. No dumb parabux currency or microtransaction garbage of course.

Didn't they also release a console version of Stellaris? Maybe it's just their decoy franchise for bad ideas.

What's up with the white supremacy stuff you people talk about? I haven't kept up with Paradox except for playing their games, and I haven't noticed anything particularly disturbing there (ethnic cleansing is equally available to everyone in EU4!).

Every thread in Games involves someone or something being accused of supporting white supremacy. Maybe it's a just a formality here.

Fan base aside, the now-director of Stellaris has liked some typical "eeeeeeeeeh" stuff on twitter but that's where it tops off at.

You know I was curious what was going on with the "ramp to nowhere". I guess they just awkwardly smudged out that portion to fit Emily in.

e: no that's not it. She's too far to the side. They smudged out the aircraft because they obviously say UNSC, but they didn't notice it was on the tanks too LOL.

This is the poo poo I'm talking about. It's a reference to a stupid copypasta from like 2008. Just because you discovered internet socialism in 2016 and knew what that mosque shooter put on his gun doesn't mean everyone did. The guy PM'd me saying he wouldn't post there again because he had no idea what he did wrong and wasn't going to walk on eggshells.

If you accidentally say something offensive, the proper response is "oh, I had no idea, I'm so sorry" and not "well I didn't know, so gently caress you, I'm going home" and bitching about how it's not fair to get called out for saying something offensive. does it really shock you that racist idiots didn't stick to ottomans and would make the same hilarious kebab reference about modern muslims to the point that paradox had to ban it from their forum and subreddit

it's used in the context of ethnic cleansing, which is why it's much more serious than those two. Context is pretty important to keep in mind.

If the guy was using it in that context, then he absolutely deserved to have everyone call him out. But that would apply to any word in that context. I don't see why Turks would get special consideration over others though.

because it applies to the Turks, and Muslims in general and is used in that context as proven by the video it originated from and the more recent one where a guy put it on a gun then shoot up a mosque. This isn't difficult.
