you buy two things, plug them together, format a sd card, and throw a bunch of roms on it, and youve got a hdmi fpga neogeo/amiga/snes/genesis/386 pc/everything fuckin else without paying analogue $2000 shipping per system

so what's a better buy for that stuff? this does seem pretty sweet

is it only not great for emulation because the portrait mode makes it a very effectively tiny screen if you want like SNES etc?

Not joking but get an N3ds xl and mod it to run snes games. They play at full speed and in their original resolution so they look amazing

I have a Linux one coming in the mail soon that I can give an opinion on soon if you want

de10 nano board https://www.amazon.com/Terasic-Technologies-P0496-DE10-Nano-Kit/dp/B07B89YHSB
sdram card https://www.etsy.com/shop/zerohimself or https://misteraddons.com/ or a million other places

32mb of ram runs nearly everything, 128mb needed to run the giant neogeo games. 128mb is pretty new so everyones backlogged making them

youd also need a cheapo otg usb hub like this if you dont have one to plug in controllers https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HYJLZH6
and probably a nice big microsd card if you dont have any spares, the de10 nano comes with a 8gb one

There's a big schism between gamers who believe the games *literally* become GBC cartridges and those who believe they only do metaphorically.

hes right that they look good though. well u cant call it authentic or true to the orignal. but they do look good .. cos like the 3ds xl screen is low resolution but big enough that u can play in 1:1 pixel size without scaling it to 2x or 4x or whatever
