I'm going to take a weekend in Richmond to go to that Weedeater/Kool Keith show, which is also apparently free and the one-year anniversary party for the bar. Usually no hesitation about going to shows solo but since I'm not local and the event seems to be kind of a party/bbq/show situation it would be good to bump into anyone else going!

if I still lived in RVA I'd be there but it's been a few years now. I am glad to see a cool venue like that popped up, after Strange Matter closed things looked bleak. even if it is also sad Black Sheep went away

Capital Alehouse (i know, right) and the Broadberry have been picking up a lot of stuff that would have been at Strange Matter and now there's a new place- Fuzzy Cactus- on Brookland Park that seems to be more of a spiritual successor. weird location, so i hope it works out for them. poo poo man, like what you like. It’s just a departure from their first 3 albums by quite a bit, and in a way that a lot of fans don’t really want them to change. Nobody ought to throw shade on you if you like it. I’d still go see them again if I had the chance, no hesitation.
