In line with the “time machine” discussion, I was thinking on my last rewatch that they could already be living in a simulated reality. A time machine would simply be a device that hits reset on the simulation (like Angela with the television). White Rose’s project could be about perfecting the timeline by making certain changes, so this could have all happened before. It does also align with her smirking comment about how you “define reality”.

Sorry, if this had been mentioned already, but does anyone think its pretty strange that Darlene knew Elliot's phone unlock pin (whatever that thing called you draw on the screen to unlock it). Gives credence to the Darlene theory. This season has been very underwhelming, hopefully they can pull off that twist without making it absurd, which honestly they failed to do multiple times in the past. Just like a lot of people, Im sticking with the show just to see it through. Is this supposed to be the final season?

I re-watched the first two episodes over the weekend there's definitely lots of hints/red herrings about Darlene being the other Elliot ego. About 18 mins into the second episode, where she's in Elliot's shower and then borrowing his clothes. A few minutes later in the first Mr Robot speaking scene where he stands in front of Elliot, both Darlene and Mr Robot walk in opposite directions after putting sunglasses on.

I thought that white van was Vera and his goons tracking Elliot and that would be a plot twist for him but not us, the viewers, since he clearly wasn't expecting the brave traveler. But now that Tyrell is there chumming it up in his apartment? Yeah, no way that ain't White Rose.

Why would Tyrell be so sloppy about breaking into his apartment? That plus WR’s assistant’s reaction to Tyrell being named CEO must be huge clues (or complete misdirects). It’s been a while, do we have any definitive “proof” from previous seasons that they’re not the same person?

So the hotel that Zhang and his boyfriend were staying at in the 1983 flashback had a nameplate in the hallway identifying it as the Hugh Everett Hotel. Make of that what you will.

The IBM types talk about how this will be their "first installation in Asia", decades after the formation of IBM and 3 years after the first IBM mainframe in china, so it really feels like whatever's going on Mr Robot is set in a slightly different alternate reality
