the os takes a screenshot before shutting down and displays it right away when starting up as an attempt to cheat "time to desktop" boot time benchmarks a normal mouse cursor is displayed right away so you only know it has finished booting when the screen flickers and everything redraws itself

YOSOS implements the SMB protocol perfectly, but does not allow the user to change any settings. there is only one SMB share, predefined and hardcoded. in it is a single text file with instructions on how to connect to the YOSOS system's FTP service.
