I'm just a total piece of shit and I'm not sure why I keep posting on this site. Christ, I have spent years with idiots giving me bad advice about online dating and haven't noticed that the thread I'm in selects for people that can't talk to people worth a damn.

It gets made more explicit in the end. Edgar is the only twin who's really passionate and intelligent, the brains of the operation. Evrart only relays orders from Edgar when he's in the office.

Beat the game for the first time, already want to jump back in. I feel like I got a pretty complete story but I still feel like there's a lot of stuff I missed; there's clearly some poo poo going on with that kid who keeps telling you to gently caress off behind the hotel, for example.

Is there a way to save all the Hardy Boys during the final shootout? I shot the merc leader, Kim shot the sniper and then the woman after I got shot, and three of them ended up dying.

also posing dramatically in front of a communist revolutionary slogan written in burning gasoline and shouting 'DISCO ELYSIUM!' was an extremely satisfying moment for reasons I can't quite articulate.

also if I had an issue with this game it's that all the stat boosting clothes give me an incentive to periodically back out of conversations in order to quickly change clothes to pass the next check which is a hilarious but slightly immersion breaking mental image

like, the game is incredibly reactive to almost everything I do, but the lady I'm interviewing doesn't comment on me pausing in the middle of our talk to change into a more persuasive shirt while standing right in front of her

I'm only a bit into the endgame - one major interaction past the point of no return - but I loving sure I shouldn't have gotten rid of the "Suicide of Kras Mazov" thought. It seemed like a minor bit of historic trivia, and less important than "Mazovian Socia-economics" at that... but I had it kind of in my head for a while now - almost since I developed that thought - that when the merc's corpse said "communism killed me" he meant "the founder of communism killed me." Idk. I think Shivers (or Inland Empire?) mentioned something about an old man looking through a scope? I did the math then and there and yeah, he'd be about 80 if he faked his own death.

Still no actual confirmation yet, and honestly I don't really know what the gently caress it means, but what Ruby wrote about "M" understanding material needs supersede all other motives makes me 100% sure I'm right

You probably just need to advance the plot. The boardwalk location is INSIDE the Feld Electrical building; you need a flashlight to find a secret room on the bottom floor to cross off that location on your list.

Uh, I think I'm stuck in a conversation during the endgame. I just woke up after the shootout, Kim filled me in on what happened. Then I have a huge list of topics. I've gone through all of them and it just keeps dumping me back to the main topic list. How do I uh, end the conversation?

you just hit the least reactive - and railroaded - part of the game. The boardwalk location is locked behind a Shivers check on the Feld building mural, right in front of the man and child

Just started. Having fun so far. The PC giving a diving middle fingers to the bartender for no loving reason into that woman's wheel chair had me cracking up for a good ten minuets. But it is making me wonder what the gently caress is happening here. Is our mainc character slowly losing his mind? Are there paranormal forces/secret government poo poo happening? I guess after a couple hours of play I still don't know just hwat the gently caress this game is past the first few hours.

I feel like this game is half a poo poo post and half has something serious to say and I cant figure out which one it is.

Doesn't seem to be, but things are weird - sometimes I can't scroll up in the conversation window. Let me try messing with the resolution, that might help - thanks for the idea

just a note, if you try to save during a game session where the tribunal has happened, all those savefiles may become corrupt. So fully expect that you need to go through the whole ending sequence in one shot (should take at most 2-3 hours). oh and lol if you try to savescum

No, it's not bugged. The others spoilers seem to think you're farther than you are, but since you're still looking for shot locations, I don't think you're quite that far. Have you pressured the Hardie boys into cooperating yet? You need to do that to advance farther, and acquire a task to look for someone.

Synthbuttrange posted:

If you've scrolled up to re-read something, you might need to scroll all the way back down to see all the options sometimes. If you have, then I don't know.

Man, I want to finish the game on my current build but I'm not extremely consistent in my answers to people, like sometimes I'm a commie and sometimes centrist, sometimes a nihilist or something else - I don't know how this really influences my playthrough.

I'd also like to play through the game with all 3 dev-made builds to see what kind of rides they prepared for us but then also try out some specific gimmick builds. But that's not realistic, it's too many! I don't even know how different those playthroughs would be and if it's worth it.

partway through day 2 and i just did the closest thing to savescumming as i think i ever will in the game: i saved not too long before having to prove my authority to the hardie boys (is this the chapo guys appearance people were talking about?) i managed to mess up an 87% chance but i stuck with the failed roll because that's been entertaining so far and ended up blowing my brains out to prove a point, and that is by far the loudest i've laughed at the game yet

Finished the game. I actually really liked the ending, although the cut to credits was really abrupt. I don't know, a series of ending slides would have seemed kind of off, and you get enough of those with the various flash-sideways from the skills.

I mean there's still a ton of stuff I haven't figured out yet, and I'm sure a good night's sleep will let me organize my thoughts (or give me terrifying dream of religious figures.) First off - does anyone know anything about the Estonian novel set in the same world? It's not out in English yet so I really wouldn't be surprised if it's incredibly hard to track down information on it, but I'm intrigued it's set 20 years after the game. I kind of want spoilers for what form "the return" will take. The game all but outright says it will be an armed insurrection, supported by at least some of the RCM, armed with antique rifles from the revolutionary era. Presumably it's aimed at kicking out the coalition? I wonder what other goals it has, what it's politics are, and if it succeeds or not. I'd assume the novel address some of that, although I could be totally wrong.

Does anyone know wtf is up with Cunoesse? Cuno basically said he thinks she's a murderer - is there any way to find out more about this? Who did she kill? Where did she come from? I'm not sure why but that seems like the most pressing thing to me at the moment.

Oh, and what the hell was the point of the necktie? It had me make it into a molotov cocktail and then uh, nothing happened. Maybe I sequence broke it? This happened after the shootout - could I have used it then?
