I think it looks cool and I like Star Wars so I’m excited. Looks like some fun Rey and Finn adventures which is good.

I’m sure it’ll suck but I’ll be at the theater on day 1 and the music and spectacle will trick my brain into thinking it was good. Adam Driver is a great actor and somehow makes that crybaby character likable.

John Williams's music in the sequel trilogy has kind of sucked to be honest, at least the new tracks, and when they pull out the old ones it kind of feels like a mix of laziness and desperation.

Yeah 7&8’s soundtracks are bad or at the very least, badly used. It’s all the more noticeable when you watch the prequels which are unquestionably hugely elevated by their scores. I can’t whistle you anything from any of these new movies. Time to send Williams to the glue factory and hire someone fresh.

My favorite part of the trailer is when C-3P0 says he wants to say goodbye to his friends, looking at Rey, Finn, and Poe, all of whom he didn't even know and the only interaction they've had has been telling him to shut the gently caress up

Time to send Williams to the glue factory and hire someone fresh. The prequels (and I want to single out Episode I here again, much is made of Duel of the Fates, but the Trade Federation March has always been the one that stuck the most with me) have excellent scores, John Williams was well and truly at the top of his game for them. You know, just a shame about the movies. The soundtracks do elevate them, but they're still terrible. Randarkman fucked around with this message at 21:26 on Oct 23, 2019 |

The degree to which Williams' score elevates a Star War is difficult to overstate. Think about the ambient minimalist synth that was the default sound track to a 70's sci-fi movie and how chintzy plastic armored laser men fighting each other would be with that kind of score. I think you 100% don't have Star Wars, the phenomenon blockbuster without it, even with everything else identical.

I loved Logan Lucky, it's an alright heist film but everyone plays such great warm characters and it had an affinity for working class southerners that feels rare to see. See also Hell or High Water. I wish Channing Tatum was in more movies

I honestly prefer prequels approach: Anakin: Hey master Obiwan remember that time we bonded and had an adventure together? Obiwan: Yeah that was great, we're close friends I know, show don't tell. But still, telling is better than neither showing or telling
