Finish What We Start Act

Completing our current BC build is to take budgetary priority over any other expenditures. Money can be spent on other items only as long as both Skopa-class vessels are in active construction.

We need these ships in service asap.
Easy enough.

We seem to be the target of industrial espionage!

February 1932

Dammit! Give me something to increase the budget!

March 1932

Concessions? To Austria? over my dead body!

It's nice to see our air force upgrading.

April 1932

It's dull at the moment. I'm seeing more of my wife. We are both displeased, as it gives us less time to see our lovers.

May 1932

We get lighter hulls, and Germany scraps one of the early dreadnoughts.

June 1932

Our air forces get a good boost this month.

July 1932

Something must happen soon!

August 1932

Something!

September 1932

We get a look at the Tourville refit.

This would be useful, if we had any money in the budget.

October 1932

Did they really submit a torpedo bomber with no guns and poor structure?

November 1932

Finally! A blank cheque to the US boosts our budget!

December 1932

Sigh. A whole year and nothing really happened.

We are about 150,000 a month better off. This is not going to expand the fleet – tensions are rising with little income increases from Parliament! The fools!

I manage to advance the Tchaikovsky a couple of months.

I managed to get a few more ships into mothballs.

Research has been quiet this year, but I expect more breakthroughs soon.

The Americans have a carrier, the Germans are building one. We are struggling to build two cheap battlecruisers.

I'm not sure what we can do to improve this.

Also, wear your bike helmets kids. I copped several blows to the head but my helmet left me totally unscathed.

We need a counter to the fixed wing vermin on the skies, but we also need it to be cheap as hell. To this end I hereby propose the Flyswatter Act.

This act requests the design of a lightweight dedicated anti-aircraft ship that is capable of maintaining formation with our existing fleet ships, thus requiring at least a 27 knot speed, while also being as cheap as possible, sacrificing some degree of survivability if need be.

Furthermore, it allows the admiral, at his discretion, to construct up to ten of them.

Prestige doesn't pay the bills Act

Grey is instructed to take budget increases over prestige in all events.

This act is automatically rescinded once we hit 35 prestige.

Is it valid/arguably sensible to scrap planes at the end of a war and rebuild ahead of the next one?

It does save a lot of money that way especially if you don't mind using the auto refill airbase option. Only bad thing is that it takes about a year for the squadrons to regain their competency.

I propose The Western Priority Act

Tensions with Japan and the United States are low at the moment, so we should prioritize the defense of our interests in the West. We should disband the Fixed wing aircraft squadrons at our bases in the North Pacific and North East Asia theatres. This act will remain in force until one of the following has come to pass:

1) hostilities break out with another power that can and likely will field fleets in the region,
2) tensions with Japan or the United states reach very high levels, as judged by the admiralty
3) the date January 1st 1939 has passed

Should one of these conditions be reached this act will become void and the admiralty will have full liberty to restock those bases with aircraft and personnel

We got some cool CL upgrades too so if they need to be AA focus with a sufficient anti-ship backup punch, that'd be a cool design challenge

Things start moving on the Budget front!

February 1930

A new fighter model with better range is under development.

March 1930

Plenty of old ships being scrapped.

April 1930

We are on every other month construction with the Tchaikovsky.

May 1930

We improve the air force.

June 1930

We have a battlecruiser! And a few good upgrades!

That's a much better bomber.

Why are Britain rebuilding a seaplane carrier?

July 1930

We send the rust buckets out to get some more money.

At 100 million each, I an obliged by law to lay down a third Skopa class to reach the 320 million area.

August 1930

Sigh, this means war again....

Dive bombers are going be be very useful, but for now, I have a war to fight!

Run. Run for your lives....

Wait, they are breaking contact?

Odd.

September 1930

Some very good news here.

The trade war is more even this time.

We're thrown in to a night time knife fight.

We lay down some accurate fire.

But they get in the torpedo hit.

Then an enemy light cruiser comes out of the night and blows the Rvotnoy apart with three simultaneous hits.

The AI fights the fight, and by the time I get control back, they have sunk a Austrian destroyer and crippled another.

But damage is mounting on our side as well.

Today was not our day.

October 1930

More weight saved.

No fight this month.

November 1930

We will not surrender!

The break thoughs keep coming.

Unfortunately, that is not all that is coming....

It's dark again, but we do find a lone transport.

Then things get interesting.

Strike!

Then we steam past them and into the main convoy!

The hits come thick and fast. But the defensive fire takes out the Zavadini. Here sister ship also fails to make it home.

They are claiming a major victory – but that is only because their transports unloaded some troops – the loss of most of those ships and a battlecruiser tells the true story!

Major victory my giant green rear end.

Okay, now I'm confused.

I'll take it – it's more in line with reality anyway!

December 1930

They invade Dalmatia, but I'm not going to let the army take over.

Once again, I have to put my trust in two destroyers.

Heavy cruiser, break break break!

Our airbase comes under attack.

The most marginal of victories.

They are building motorboats.

The budget is in tatters!

I've been forced to mothball a lot of the older destroyers to even keep things in check.

Of course, all construction is halted.

Research continues.

Ships of the world.
