I mean, yeah? The whole point is that it's a personal preference on my part and that it only affects me, because I don't like him or his crowd, lmao. This affects my ability to enjoy Switch games. I'm sorry if that hurts anyone on a personal level.

The point is that you're letting the opinions of a niche of a niche that even other anti-SJWs hate significantly affect your opinion of a console that has zero connection to said opinions, especially since said niche is at this very moment making GBS threads on the Switch for not being the "chud console" you say it is. It's less upsetting and more completely baffling and a little concerning.

I do not believe for a second that goons are overtly concerned about this. Melting down over minor comments is a given, goons do it over everything, and there is no indication that this is any different. What, are you guys going to stage an intervention for me or something? Make me buy Switch games for my own good? Come on now guy.

I also don't care how niche these people are, they still creep me out and I'm going to avoid buying stuff they endorse if possible because that's just how much I don't like them. What do we do after that? Is this Baker Act worthy? I doubt it but if my mental health is that concerning then maybe someone should call me in and have me medicated.

That doesn't mean I'm boycotting the Switch, if there are exclusives on the Switch that look fun then I'll purchase them. But I have a choice here so I'm exercising it. Too bad so sad, lock me up or whatever.

Well apparently lots of people give a gently caress, no one wants to talk Persona or SMT or the upcoming releases. Instead there's a bunch of goons posting their "concern" over purchasing choices because they can't wrap their minds around the idea of someone being put off a specific product.

e: I hope we learn more about Akechi in P5R, his character has potential to be interesting if Atlus has the guts to go through with it.

why can we gently caress older ladies as a teenager in a game where the first bad guy is a dude that rapes teenagers

Because society at large only thinks its gross if it's a male teacher loving their student. Look at any news story about a female teacher being caught loving a student and notice how most peoples reactions will be to say the kid was lucky or call him a little bitch if he was the one who outed her. We Live in a Society folks.

Actual, serious answer: because as literally this entire thread shows a lot of people who play these games are over 25 and the line between Joker the character and Joker the player cipher is wavy as gently caress

A friend of mine was wondering if they'd ever make a persona game with a cast of 20 somethings instead of high schoolers. Probably not, because a lot of people in Japan kinda glorify high school afaik, but what would that even be like?

Party could be a mix of college students and people with full time jobs, relationships with older people would be significant less creepy :v: and hmm probably no surrogate dad? Since you'd probably just live by yourself or maybe with roommates.

Isn't that Persona 2? IIRC most of the cast are 20+ in that one.

Serious answer: No, I honestly doubt that. That isn't a video game P-Team really seems interested in. Catherine was an interesting experiment with people in their late 20's so at some point they were tossing some ideas around and I personally really like some aspects of the story and characters of that, but the high school setting just does so incredibly well for them and they center so much of the game's story and events around High School and Being A Teen and haven't swayed from that since "rebooting" the franchise that I don't see them pivoting. Even Persona 2 has you going to a high school and considering the perils of transitioning into unguided young adulthood

With how much 5 expanded the city aspect, I kind of imagine Persona 6 returning to a small town setting, but this time it's fully walk around-able with no loading.

The romance with the teacher option was really gross and put me off of doing her story which was a mistake because A) her story is good and B) her perks are really good too.

Yeah, I agree that they probably won't do it, but was just wondering how different it would even make the game to begin with if they did

There are also quite a few non-Persona SMT games with casts in the 18-25 age range, so they probably dont feel any need to change up the Persona formula as long as its working.

How did the remake of EP fare saleswise?

I heard it wasn't great but I don't know if it was 'bad for a video game in Japan' or just 'bad for a Persona game', which I feel like are two separate numbers.

Mostly player cipher stuff really, also the bad guy is forcing himself onto the teenagers. The other romances are not mandatory parts of a character arc, outside Ohya who is faking it as a secret potential scandal to hide her actual work, and when pursuing the romance generally require the idea to be started by the protagonist and far more convincing than the same age romances do.

Arguably the correct action would have been in every case where the older confidants are romanced they make it clear that nothing will happen for the two years Joker still has of high school.

Anyway I now must date Haru every time because her rejection scene hurts the most for me to watch personally. Even if I myself outside the character of Joker really like Kawakami and think she is cute.

Unfortunate. I'm hoping to get more info in him based off the extra scenes but it's not like they're going to iron out any of the problems in the story, and that's the real hamstring.

That being said, being able to hang out with him might give us a better idea of who he is as a person outside of the fake niceness/angry ranting.
