The FBI didn't need "political capital" to secretly infiltrate groups focused on socialism, environmentalism, and civil rights with the explicit intention of weakening and discrediting them. They just loving did it, and kept the details secret. There's no reason they can't do the same to white nationalist groups, other than the fact that there's probably plenty of white nationalists in the FBI.

Friend, don't give in to despair. Instead channel that frustration into hope and join me in promoting the idea of a general strike. Reform is impossible to accomplish by incrementalism, all incrementalism ever accomplishes (in practice) is to ameliorate the most visible of the symptoms- but it never treats the disease. The disease in cannot be treated until the system has been actively antagonized and directly threatened, only then can true reform happen. The system no longer fears the body politic; and until the body politic forces the system to feel fear again nothing will change and all our efforts will be for naught. General strike now! It's the stupidest loving thing. I have a high deductible health plan, which is supposed to encourage me to shop around and find the lowest price. I actually managed to do this when I hurt my knee. I got the urgent care to give me a price for at least some of their services. I gave them my insurance info and waited for the bill. My insurance never got the bill. It would still have saved me money, despite the stratospheric deductible, because of negotiated rates. When I went back to the clinic, they looked through the notes on my account and helpfully explained that, because I pushed so hard to know how much it would cost, the person working the front desk assumed I didn't have insurance. So they just didn't bother submitting it. Space Gopher fucked around with this message at 16:30 on Nov 4, 2019 |

Imo we can all either simply watch with impotent rage as subpoenas are ignored and Democratic Leadership refuses to exercise the power they've been imbued with; or we can start talking about people power/a vision of the future filled with hope for our children. He gave the example of a drought. “If a client has food and water and all the other stuff,” he said, “then they become a target.” López Portillo and Paz Larach uttered small words of consensus in Spanish, while scanning through email on their phones. “And if and when desperate people discovered that cache of water and food,” he continued, it was the Pinkertons’ job to protect it at whatever cost. Space Gopher posted:This is some late capitalist horror movie poo poo. "You didn't follow the monster's rules, and trusted somebody who you only thought was helpful, so you deserve whatever happened to you." When my kid was born there were 2-3 rounds of phone calls, to the correct insurance number, to get them added to our insurance plan. Each time the person on the phone assured us that she had been added successfully, and then a couple of days later we'd check the website and see that this was not the case. I don't like to think about what would have happened had expensive medical care been required during that period before the registration was successful. This whole discussion reminds me of Pelosi's interview from a few days ago criticizing medicare for all. She just fundamentally doesn't understand why people might hate the entire health insurance industry and want to scrap it.
