Having a hard time imagining something that would be worse for the US than getting involved in Mexico. Forever police action with no clear goal beyond killing bad guys, brutalizing and corrupting the army, feeding the flames of antihispanic racism, further destabilizing a country of 100 Million people on the US border, the US would be in a really bad place in 10 years

It’s like ISIL getting kicked out of AQ for being too hardline. The policy was put in place around the turn of the century so the Army would stop hunting church leadership and Congress would let Utah become a state. The Utah Territory at the time was occupied by the US Army and controlled by a military governor. Congress denied Utah statehood for a decade or so after they met the requirements because federal anti-polygamy laws only applied to territories, and Congress assumed Utah would just legalize it once getting statehood.

I'm a big fan about how her statement mentions supporting military survivors, but the word "survivor(s)" appears only five times in the statement: Once to say she'll support them, once to say she supported a bill to allow a survivor to break a lease within a year of a military spouse's death (which would have been nice when my wife died), and then three times in reference to sexual assault.
