I’m not advocating that, I’m not saying that sick people pay more than healthy people though. Everyone pays a little more on their taxes to fund the scheme rather than spending on insurance premiums. The raise in taxes will likely be much less than current premiums so everyone should make a saving in real terms. The UK NHS is funded by National Insurance which all working people pay in accordance to their tax band. Every citizen is covered regardless of age or working status. If you went the way of a lot of Europe and Australia then everyone would be covered by the National scheme and you can opt in to buy extra coverage from insurance companies if you want. Edit: Americans refusing to pay taxes is why you don’t have nice things.

Some people can't handle being yelled at or being directly challenged as well as others, and that can be okay - it just means that you have to pursue alternative avenues to provide constructive criticism. Those people probably shouldn't be ones castigating others for perceived weakness, though. That kind of projection is just upsetting!
