"Luke’s confrontation with Kylo on the red-salt tarmac only hints at the shock of bloodshed, and the centerpiece skirmish between Supreme Leader, Kylo, and Rey — the film’s visual highpoint — features only rote gymnastics. You cannot have seen any Chinese martial arts or Zack Snyder movies if you are impressed by this. Johnson’s backdrop is a stunning red cyc wall that goes up in flames, revealing nothing. Psyche."

I like armond because he has an original opinion, often controversial.
Reviews in which you agree with every word is pretty boring to listen.
A lot more fun to read about weird Christian Right-wing takes on movies

yeah but his reviews are just an extremely loquacious "it's bad" or "it's good", he doesn't actually give any perspective about any parts of the movie like Ebert could

I don't really agree; the dude definitely has an axe to grind but at least it's a perspective.

If I may interject, the decoy Queen having Padme clean r2d2 after escaping Naboo: passive aggressive revenge against her cruel superior? Okay that's a stretch.

Amazing how bad the BluRay looks. Wonder if 4k remasters will come along on Disney+. Are the recent ones even available that way?

I'm guessing it'll be some stuff with a hologram doing a motivational speech, and then she's going to die, and then there will be a force ghost later in the film.

I will be vaguely impressed if they're brave enough to actually just give the character a sendoff and a happy ending, though, like Paul Walker with the 12 Fast 12 Furious films.

It's funny how "a sendoff and a happy ending" is pretty much impossible for the actually still alive original cast. Ford, Hamill and Williams are so old theres no way they'll still be alive if someone ever tries to replace the sequels with some actually good movies. As it is the entirety of the original heroes failed miserably in both their public and private lives and left the world a worse place than when they entered it.

The car chase scene in episode 2 is fantastic for audio porn.
I didn’t know until I listened to the soundtrack but apparently there’s electric guitars too?

It’s a lot harder to approximate those sounds through sound though, while the pod race had very distinct sounds to signify anakin and Sebulba’s pod, especially
