My favourite placebo effect thing is that it works for surgery, like they give you a fake operation where they just put you under and make an incision and sew you back up afterwards and it appears to actually be helpful. Which I suppose is entirely to be expected given the mechanics of the whole thing but somehow it seems even dumber than getting better from eating sugar pills.

This pivot will significantly damage his credibility with some of his supporters. I think he's announced this change of strategy because he's realised that his previous announcement might have been the wrong move. Farage has some cunning, but he's just as shortsighted and greedy as the other notable cunts. These are the moves of a man who thinks he's untouchable and knows he will never be called out by a media that considers Labour the greater threat. But the gammons are fickle and quick to anger...

Clove oil is very good for toothache. Just apply directly to the tooth with a cotton bud. Still can't help think Labour's air game is weak this time around. One of my biggest memories of the 2017 campaign was the flood of new policies being announced daily on the radio right from the off. We haven't had anything like that this time around. https://twitter.com/ElectionMapsUK/status/1193980445018472448 Also not much sign of the polls moving yet. Really hope the debates go well for Corbyn and terribly for Johnson.

They didn't wait for the manifesto last time though, they threw out loads of policies before it even leaked. Every day on the news was Labour focusing on a different policy area with some new announcement. What have Labour done or announced in the last four or five days? Have they commanded any airtime whatsoever? EDIT: Although if you want cheering up... https://twitter.com/ElectionMapsUK/status/1193984074764967941

If the rumours I’ve heard are true, there’s a bit of trouble brewing over the manifesto, and in particular, the bits concerning free movement and the motion passed at conference. There’s a push to get it included, and some heavy resistance by members of the shadow cabinet who are concerned by the optics of Labour being ‘soft on immigration’.

I know someone was asking earlier about Momentum and the volunteer sign ups and I'd check your email now. The latest thing they sent said they'd had a problem with their online platform so the last few days of volunteer processing didn't go through. I resubmitted with them and instantly got the invite to the Slack channel. Hoping my inability to go out and canvas can be of some use in the data-entry and support departments. Also chiming in to say that I'm a lurker too and the election is getting me down as gently caress again, especially with the Brexit Party bollocks but there's not much I can do but try and support Labour in whatever I can. And hey, if we lose, see you all in a couple of years for PM Pidcock.

holy poo poo shut up guys my wisdom teeth are coming through and I'm going to have to get them removed sooner or later and I am not looking forward to it. A couple of them are ok but the top ones in particular feel like they're coming in at a 45 degree different angle to the rest of my teeth. Praying that they reposition themselves as they come through more. They're so weird though, I had a bottom one come through quite quickly and it seemed to be ok once it was through the gum, then the second bottom one starts coming through but only makes it halfway through the gum then stops for some reason with a flap of gum over it. The top ones were only just poking through for over a year then all of a sudden decided to make their move. Absolute nightmare to keep clean because of the angles and how far up in the back of my mouth they are.

Ms Adequate posted:Looking good if the pattern continues to hold If only the Lib Dems would gently caress away off What's weird is that Labour is basically exactly where they were, but the Lib Dems are up significantly, the Greens are up a bit, even the Brexit party is up on where UKIP were. Only the Tories are down. Upside: the Libs and Greens being up give us more places to take votes from. Downside: maybe the polling companies have changed their methodology and this is more accurate than they were last time.
