Pretty sure Smogon is already going to split between a gen 8 OU and a National Dex OU. I never want to see Heatran, Lando T or the Tapus again so I’ll be staying far the gently caress away from the National Dex version. Seriously Gen 7’s meta got so old so fast to me personally, it was just a Tapu circlejerk. EDIT sniped the first page like Intellion. Again by accident. I just noticed in the animation that right before it fires, its eyes go black but not it’s yellow eyelid. That must mean Intellion has a nictating membrane, something real world reptiles and I think birds have to protect their eyes during dangerous activities. That’s a really cool touch.

For some reason, the vast majority of 6 and especially 7 mons had MAJOR stat issues - for example, like 90% of gen 7’s Pokedex was irredeemably, unusably slow. Even worse they were just fast enough to not be usable on Trick Room teams. Just garbage tier slow. Couldn’t use them ingame where you pretty much want fast sweepers (or again, Trick Room). Couldn’t use them in competitive for obvious reasons. They were just filler, even if they had cool designs. Still bitter about Decidueye’s loving awful speed despite its Pokedex going on about how fast it shoots it’s arrows. LIES.

Nope. :/ Battles run smoothly enough now, at least, but in a double battle, it's your character, your two pokemon, your opponents' pokemon and your opponents, and the opponents will disappear from the frame during attack animations to keep performance.

Much like XY, this is a big move to a new architecture with new things they never experienced before and I do feel like it will show. I doubt many people will regard it as the best generation ever (though I do think it has a lot of mons who are contenders for new favorites) but hopefully they'll look at their failures here and build upon it. I had similar feelings about XY, where they were disappointing and meh, but Ultra Sun is my most played pokemon game ever.

I’m one of those heathens that never nicknames their Pokemon. As a kid it was because Ash didn’t do it (  ) but as an adult I stuck to it because there’s so many of the drat things now it’s easier to remember their actual species names if I don’t nickname them.

So I was gonna use the pseudo for my playthrough but it evolves into its 2nd stage at 50  Yeah that’s not ideal since it’s going to be near useless until almost the end of the game.Also Galar Darmanitan is a beast. One ability is Choice band, and Zen mode is now even more offensive than the normal form(along with becoming Fire/Ice). And it gets Belly drum.
