Fractional pay systems just meant I rounded up everyone to the nearest quarter-hour, when I was doing payroll. I loved seeing other payroll people who popped their monocles when they found out you weren't paying per minute. Like, calm the gently caress down Karen, no one gives a poo poo if the company has to pay out an extra $5.

I just meant that -40 is the same in both C and F and for some reason I think it's funny. Like, the temperature scientist guys were like "gently caress it, it's too cold, let's just do the same so we can get out of here." And YES, in this scenario I am pretending Celcius and Fahrenheit were invented by two plucky grad students who were in competition but are now friends because they got too cold while simultaneously inventing temperature scales. I don't know, I'm a pretty deep thinker.
