How long does it usually take to get a postal vote confirmation through? Do you even get one? I sent off my application about a week ago and have heard nothing back.

Just the difference between 2015 and now is amazing. Back then means tested Internet vouchers and the removal of forced land line charges would have been seen as too out there.

I was part of this. The first question in the set was 'do you support Labour's proposed nationalisation of part of BT', and it was a 3-way split between 'yes', 'no' and 'don't know'. The question in the tweet was the next question - how you answer 'no' to the first one and 'yes' to the second one I'll never understand.

Surely the first question couldn't be an attempt to lead people to answer no in the second one.

The first includes the word Labour, and Jeremy Corbyn is a terrorist communist Hitler coward. Partisan response is a hell of a thing.

Borrovan posted:Labour is also the only party that ever actually set out a comprehensive Brexit position. Tories never had one, there was a series of contradictory red lines for a while but never actually a detailed policy. LDs just had "second referendum" for ages, but then when people said "yeah but second referendum between what options, there's no deal" they just shouted "SECOND REFERENDUM" louder. I guess revoke A50 was a comprehensive position, for the 45 seconds or so before they reverted to a quantum superposition of that and second referendum. I don't even know what the rest of them wanted. CON under May set down their "red lines" since triggering A50 in 2017; they could not convince the EU to agree with those - it was never realistic for them to expect it do so - and they utterly failed to appreciate the Irish problem, but they did have a detailed position LDEM has had "second referendum of remain or whatever brexit deal is negotiated" since 2017 - it shifted to unilateral revoke this year LAB in 2017 also had a position - it was Starmer's six tests for backing a brexit deal. Remember those? “exact same benefits as we currently have as members of the Single Market and Customs Union"? At the same time, "freedom of movement will end"? The red-lines-that-the-EU27-won't-agree-to phenomenon afflicted both of the major UK parties really

constructive ambiguity was a policy pushed through at great internal cost and executed to marvellous effect, delivering that labour surge in 2017 but it was ambiguous it wouldn't have worked otherwise

It's appreciated. I've had the last 5 days off work and the only things I have done is post on here. I managed to make some food yesterday which is good, and managed to go out and do some canvasing but I've also burst into tears a few times.
