I was trying world Beserkers as allies with my Black legion before but am really sold on them now!

I think people could be understandably miffed if the new hotly-anticipated army with a brand spanking-new Codex had a "BUY THIS BOOK AS WELL" kind of thing and can understand why they chose to put everything in the Codex.

And TBH if you buy the Sisters box and don't want it, you can flip it on eBay for a 100% markup right now, so I'd buy first think later if you're even considering it.

I was surprised it was up so long honestly. It sounded like other regions sold out almost immediately.

Also I'm pretty certain the site was taken down briefly to remove the splash screen after the sale was done.

Yeah I got mine right at 1 pm and checked back in 15 minutes and it was still up. Then at like 1:40 the site went down. The splash screen was still up after and just directed to the product page where it said the set was no longer available.

It's about time for my once per decade ban for being a consistently terrible poster.
Sisters are cool, the new models are gothic as gently caress, the rules are tight, and miracle dice are interesting. Especially the additional ways you can use them with Stratagems. I like the one that lets you bring generic characters back to life by trading miracle dice for wounds. So 2 CP x Miracle dice and it just pops back up. Spendy but hilarious for when you need your buff machines to keep going.

They seem like a flavorful and well-designed army. I don't know how the internal or external balance will be, but I like the thought of their mechanics.

So a little while ago I was soliciting advice on the Necrons for an upcoming ITC tournament we were having at our game store (although it's not part of the official circuit I guess).

It went down today, I ended up bringing the One True Necron List with 6 destroyers and 30 immortals.

First round I managed to somehow beat a guy with 4 knights by one point, despite confusing headhunter and titanslayer (it was my first ITC event, ok?). Quantum shields are glorious. He went on to win the event.

Second round I rolled pretty awfully and got rolled by a pile of war dogs.

Third round I ended up fighting a Khorne list with a butcher leviathan, 3 rhinos full of angry berserkers, 2 crazy demon princes with a zillion attacks, Kharn, and a bloodletter bomb. Ended up sacrificing immortal units to give the rest of the team a shooting chance. The highlight was avoiding a bloodletter bomb via veil of darknessing out of combat and unloading massed Tesla fire into the bloodletters. It turned into a comedy show where it took too drat long for the doomsday arks to kill Kharn, but I ended up pulling out a close win.

Overall I got 65 points, putting me a little above the middle of the pack.

Shout out to my great opponents for making all the games fun, and the goons here and in the discord who gave me advice.

Going forward I think I'm replacing the doom scythes with a gauss stalker and some tesseract arks - they're just too gimmicky and once one plane goes down they're...not great.

I was sorely disappointed in that I didn’t get a box of sisters. I was hoping to paint a bunch over the holidays. Oh well.

I’m still hoping I can get a box from my FLGS shelves. They’re pretty good about keeping a few of these hard-to-gets around for Joe Schmoe. Guess I’ll travel there on November 29th (the USA release date?). Kid wants some more marines anyway.

Man why does everyone with the codex early have to be a youtuber, just give me pictures.

New Unit: Zephyrim are melee Seraphim with power swords. Still S3 but can reroll all wounds.

Battle sanctum is a fortification that generates miracle dice

Exorcists are 3d3 shots, weapon profile is the same EXCEPT -3 AP instead of 4 or you can replace with a 3d6 S5 -2 1D weapon instead

And yeah it looks like exorcists and immolators both come with a heavy bolter standard

Imagifiers have banners that get you +1 S, Treat AP1 as 0, or reroll deny the witch tests. Pick 1 when the game starts, can't change it

Retributor cherubs: sacrifice to let a model shoot twice
Incensor cherub: sacrifice to generate a miracle die (roll 2 keep the best)

Junith is Our Martyred Lady only; increases invuln saves by 1, fly, 9 wounds, 2 heavy flamers and S5 in melee, and a reroll 1s to hit ANd wound aura

Uriah Jacobus is gone

Repentia get a 5+++

Dialogus lets you increase or decrease the value of one miracle die by one. Must be 1-6 still.

New order convictions:

Valorous Heart: Treat AP1 as AP0, if it's near an imagifier with the AP power, treat AP2 as 0
Bloody Rose: Improve AP by 1 for melee and pistols and +1A on charge/charged/heroic
Ebon Chalice: 5+ shrug for mortal wounds, you can choose to discard an extra miracle die when performing an act of faith to make another miracle die count as a 6
Sacred Rose: Max 1 flee from morale, on a 5+ you gain a miracle die when performing an act of faith, overwatch on 5+

3d3 is a welcome change from 1d6 :)

Is the second weapon profile the immolator? Or a second profile for the exorcist itself?

Pardon my garbage shorthand. The second profile is an alternate weapon for the exorcist that replaces the main missile launcher.

So my Google news feed is showing a story from the Warhammer Community section of the GW site titled "Sisters of Battle: Situation Report" and starts: "When you said you wanted plastic Adeptus Soriatas, you" but when I click on it there's a 404 error on the GW site saying the article has been "expunged" or no longer exists.

Setting aside the very inquisitorial feeling of that, it looks like GW are going to say something about it, maybe even make more.

Loads of people on reddit were complaining about gamesworkshop but really the people to blame are the idiots who buy from scalpers.

If it were me I'd have people register an interest and then it's like a lottery rather than encourage millions of people to visit my website at the exact same time, but even with those systems people can sign up multiple times to game the system.

Ultimately scalpers exist because people are willing to pay more for these things than they were sold for, and the only real solution is either a) create a crazy vetting process to weed out known scalpers which still won't work or b) charge more money, which everyone will hate.

Couldn't they have just taken preorders six months ago and printed a number to meet the demand, plus 10-20% to go to physical stores? If everyone who wanted one gets one from GW directly that would do a lot to diminish the secondary market.
