That, and 1) Kaep hasn't played for 3 years 2) Kaep doesn't know their playbook 3) Kaep doesn't know their receivers 4) the Lions are built for a completely different style of quarterback 5) the Lions don't have a running game that can hide 1-4 right now

I can understand not signing kaep to a smaaaaaall extent with it being this late in the season. Hes not gonna save any teams on the outside of the playoff hunt. But you could also give him a "2" year deal and expect him to learn/ practice and compete for a job next year. Having a QB that can run can help a lot of running game woes.

Seeing a triple option of Kaep, Montgomery, Cohen would be extremely cool. Also Robinson with a quality QB would be fun to watch. Hell it'd be 2014 all over again and I would cheer for the Bears if they sign Kaep.

HootTheOwl posted:Where is Robbie Gould? You judge a GM on the results. 4 losing seasons in 5 years. They'll be going into an offseason with little money that has to completely rebuild its offense. Their great defense is aging and losing players. The Bears will keep him because the McCaskeys like him and he makes friends with the local media. But he's a bad GM and asking him to bring in the next QB is insane considering his previous choices were Mike Glennon and Mitch Trubisky.

And the Bears will keep everyone they have money locked up in because they probably have the poorest (in $ terms) owners in the NFL. They need it to keep Ginny alive because there are rumors the McCaskeys next in line can’t afford the estate taxes on inheriting the team. That was before the Trump tax cuts though, so as a financial illiterate that may not be the case now.
