I was originally calling Epstein ep-steen, but that's because I never actually looked at the spelling, and as I understand all names with 'ie' are pronounced 'ee' and those with 'ei' are pronounced 'eye'.

My surname is anglicised jewish, has an 'ei' and is pronounced 'eye' not 'ee'. Frankly I think it's Jeffrey Epstein who was anti-semitic for not pronouncing his name right.

The 'Corbyn is antisemitic' smear stuck harder than other attempts, and having that just bubbling under the surface did an effective job of undermining his anti-racist credentials (however much it was bullshit). Now they're yelling 'ANTISEMITISM!!!' at every tiny innocuous thing he does to the point of parody, making constant insane reaches, reading meaning into the number of loving buttons he has done up on his shirt to convince themselves he's sending subtle hostile messages to jews, just having the most wilfully dumb takes if it gives them an excuse to point the finger at him. Surely this must now be getting to the point where your average guy on the street has stopped reacting 'oh yes antisemitism is bad, you say he is? I think polls had already showed - even a year ago - that about 50% think the AS claims in the media are bullshit, and labour voters either see through it (good) or actually don't care (less good)

It's not like Corbyn got "LIAR" while Johnson got "Inaccurate in some respects" Their wording is very much more agressive towards Corbyn, saying "Thats just not right" for when Corbyn was off on his numbers, and then saying "Johsons numbers dont quite make up to his promised numbers" is skewing it to one side.

I think you're over blowing it. I had a look at all 7 claims: Corbyn's claims 1. "That's not right" 2. "It's a bit of an understatement" (which actually works in favour of Corbyn's argument) 3. [no specific wording about the accuracy of the claim, just an explanation of what's true] Johnson's claims 1. [no specific wording] 2. "It all depends how you define..." 3. [no specific wording] 4. [no specific wording] Overall, completely tepid. Slightly more direct in corbyns case, but the "that's not right" is not in relation to Corbyn being off on numbers, it's in relation to him saying the deal got through parliament with DUP support - which it absolutely did not. They all voted against it. Hardly damning evidence of bias. For what it's worth, the comments are all making GBS threads on Johnson.

Fwiw I have heard from leftist jews that equating Israel with nazis directly as opposed to nay other dictator who killed a lot of people based on race is problematic because if Jews can be nazis clearly the nazis didn't hate Jews and it veers a bit into holocaust denial in that respect. I don't agree with the view point, nor do I think that's what reddit was going for, but it is a view point amongst some leftist jews. Personally I think it only works as an argument if you completely ignore any nuance and people think that what you're saying is "Benjamin Netanyahu is literally a member of the National Socialist Party that hasn't existed since the end of WW2"

Because Corbyn's handling of it was clumsy back when it hit its peak, it's the only piece of scandal they've got on him that really has any traction under scrutiny. So they're going to keep banging that drum even as it gets coalesces into absurdist self-parody.
