My guess for BSB is some overpaid consultant suggested Warren's campaign should have a mascot, and the resulting brainstorming session among her creative genius plan-makers, involving ideas like "her pet dog" and "our campaign slogans that barely get any play", produced the most illegible publicity stunt in recent history. Say what you will about Buttigieg, at least he's sticking to tried-and-true CIA brainwashing techniques.

When I talk to Democrats who are even older than me, something I've noticed getting repeated a lot is that they want someone who is "presidential" and "moderate." The first means a man who is old but not too old. The second means absolutely nothing. So Buttigieg might not be the synthesis of Obama and Romney; he might be the synthesis of Obama and Kasich. He's too young, though, and he looks like Chucky.
